Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

Pigs are just 4 legged humans that are dumber. Since most of their organs are similar to ours. Heck! Human meat tastes like pork

Not ... so much. Shorter muscles like pecs are more pork-like, but the longer muscles like hamstrings are more chicken-like. Paradoxically, more cooking time is needed for the shorter muscles, otherwise they end up dry, even though they have more fat.

Uh ... apparently.

How does one gain this knowledge?

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 20 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Much like walking, you just have to take it one foot at a time

[–] Thedogdrinkscoffee@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 weeks ago

Lol!

Sorry, I expressed myself poorly. I was asking for recipies.

Same way I did; make it up.

Right, but what about the pigs?

Same difference.

They also use pig carcasses for ballistic tests as they're all similar.

Also, once the pigs take over the farm they start walking on two legs.

Why do you know what human meat tastes like?

[–] db2@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Human meat is literally called "long pig".

[–] twelvety@fedia.io 6 points 2 weeks ago

Yes. The term came from the Polynesian languages into English via Missionaries. The island people would war with their enemies and the winner got to eat the loser, calling them long pigs.

From my other comment: 'Jeremy Wade talked about how he asked some former cannibals what human meat tasted like'

[–] Solumbran@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Dumber?

Have you not seen the state of humanity?

[–] Friendlybirdseggs@sopuli.xyz 4 points 2 weeks ago

Ehhhhhh fair enough

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Friend, have you had human meat or is this just common knowledge?

[–] Friendlybirdseggs@sopuli.xyz 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Jeremy Wade talked about how he asked some former cannibals what human meat tasted like

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Honestly, as some form of rite that replaces burial/cremation, as disgusting as I might find it, I could morally tolerate it. 🤷

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago

Pff I'd love to see a pig try to destroy its own environment for profit

[–] hanrahan@piefed.social 3 points 2 weeks ago

Heck! Human meat tastes like pork

If the TV show Whitechapel taught me anything , it's that human meat does NOT taste like pork.

Pigs are just 4 legged humans that are dumber.

Many humans are way dumber than the dumbest pig. You have many specimens here and on other social networks.
