/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Whomever takes the time to make these, you have my undying gratitude.

I fucking love this so fucking much!

Keiko O’Brien is going to be the first human to kill a Klingon with their bare hands.

[–] teft@piefed.social 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I would bet Mbenga killed a few klingons barehanded during the war with that green juice he had.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Dishonorable combat!

Or with nagging

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I. Have had. Enough of you.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Genesis helped a little. :)

Yeah, but the fact that Kirk's shirt was still mostly intact during that fight (thereby sealing away most of his power) more than compensates for that.

Another question: Why do they still do natural childbirth when they have transporters?

[–] hzl@piefed.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Because you should at least get a chance to be born before being replaced by a procession of short-lived transporter clones.

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

What makes you think that would... ever... be a thing?

[–] hzl@piefed.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

The Rikers.

Or do you mean getting to live briefly first?

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Just O'Brien related transporter shenanigans.

[–] ViatorOmnium@piefed.social 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Because the transporter is a nightmare fuel generator even when they are not using it to split two living beings that are literally bound by flesh, and even biologically synchronized to a high degree?

[–] SwingingTheLamp@piefed.zip 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

And yet, somehow, people willingly step into it all the time!

[–] ViatorOmnium@piefed.social 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Outside of starships named Enterprise or Voyager they also seem to have a series of rules in place to prevent sending people to the wrong universe or merge them with their pet.

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 16 points 2 days ago

Please, Neelix was more than a pet!

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm just surprised the crew doesn't beam the shit out of their colons on the regular.

Who's to say they don't...

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Didn't they do a teleporter birth on Voyager and it caused the kid's cell membranes to dissolve?

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

In one version of the ship. This was after they'd split in two by going slightly out of phase, but shared the same antimatter. The other Naomi Wildman survived the transport and was taken to the less doomed Voyager by the remaining Harry Kim. You know, the one that didn't get spaced from a ruptured hull.

[–] undeffeined@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 days ago

I like to think it's because healthy natural child birth is optimal for both the babys and the mothers wellbeing.

Ask the (American) doctor: "So if it's not delivered in 30 minutes or less, it's free right?"

[–] hakunawazo@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Nothing in American health care is free.

[–] 13igTyme@piefed.social 7 points 2 days ago

It's Gigiorno.
