If you really like Emulation Station or Batocera then you'll like Rocknix and Knulli, probably. I've tried them and I think they're okay, but I prefer to run the modded version of Anbernic's stock OS on my RG35xxh these days.

A double homicide at a gated desert country club near Palm Springs has taken an unusual turn, with investigators now probing whether the deaths of a retired couple are connected to an elaborate online scam in which the wife allegedly sent thousands of dollars to a fraudster posing as Hollywood actor Tom Selleck.

The notice comes from the official Moss account on Twitter; the only English language news source I could find about it at the moment is from Perfectly Nintendo, which translates the patch notes as follows:

  • New Rendering Speed (Frame Rate) Selection Option Players can now choose their preferred rendering speed for smoother gameplay performance.
  • New 54 FPS Setting Added In addition to the existing 60 FPS option, a new 54 FPS setting has been added, offering players greater flexibility in how they experience the game.
  • Minor Display-Related Bug Fixes Several small visual and display issues have been corrected to improve overall presentation and gameplay stability.

Hopefully existing players can confirm the patch is live, and has improved the game's performance!

Steam has added "bullet heaven" as an official tag, in an effort to separate games like Vampire Survivors from danmaku, "bullet hell" shooters. The author would prefer "survivors-like." But it's pretty clear that "surviors-like" has been rejected, broadly speaking. Either way, I hope this helps people find the kinds of games they're looking for.

Living the Dream indeed.

This lengthy Phantasy Star IV interview was compiled from several shorter pre-release magazine interviews conducted in 1993. It covers the usual bases, exploring the origin of the development and its relation to other Phantasy Star games. I've also included a commentary from Rieko Kodama, and a full interview from the World of Phantasy Star book conducted just before the game's release.

"Do we have anime tiddies?"

"Usul, we have tiddies the likes of which even God has never seen."

Every current iteration has to deal with comparisons to what we could be getting instead, to a greater or lesser degree. Getting this means we're not getting that.

I remember older fans complaining that TNG's existence ruled out the fourth season of TOS that they really wanted, just as I remember being disappointed that ENT's existence put a period on the TNG-era.

(Though I will say that my distaste for ACA is not about lost opportunities but about my failure to get pulled in to the setting and story. I don't mind it existing, though! De gustibus non est disputandum and all that.)

From the description:

After more than two decades away, Psyvariar 3 revives Success’ cult shmup franchise with a surprising amount of depth and confidence. This review discusses the game’s intense Buzz grazing system, demanding arcade structure, varied character roster, and why its risk-reward design stands out among modern bullet hell shooters without relying purely on nostalgia.

Yeah they need more room for more words. Like, a few the's would help.
