Thank you Russia, again, for killing the nazis all these countries are sending.

This has to be only for the 'foreign league'. Thousands of Polish and other 'non-league' soldiers have been killed of. Also high ranking fascist officers from all the directly involved nations, and the low-life US/west nazi's that controlled all the now destroyed himars etc batteries/radar stations etc. This is a sub-statistics in the full stream of de-nazifications..

These are probably just the people that signed up for Ukraine, and not the "former" personnel from Ukraine's allies.

If you have other statistics that show the thousand of Polish and non-league soldiers, please share it if possible!

For now, this is the only one that I could find as the latest.

Before you ask, yes, colombians were used as cannon fodder

tbf, that is the point of hiring mercenaries

[–] bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 12 hours ago

afaik, other nations mercenaries were not treated like the latin ones.

Poland 22? I don't belive, or vast majority of Poles there aren't on that list as mercenaries.

[–] Commiejones@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah I thought the Polish army sent more than a thousand sheep dipped troops

At some point in 2023 i think, Ukrainian soldiers were complaining that entire sections of front speak mostly Polish.

No way that resulted in just 22 dead.

We even probably had at least one general out there who died in incredibly suspicious circumstances supposedly in Brussels but i'm sure completely coincidentally in the day Russian army turned one of the mercenary bases into rubble.

Maybe they are making a distinction about mercenaries vs sheep dipped troops? I'm sure there are more french and american troops who have been killed as well but maybe they weren't "mercenaries" but "advisors?"

Likely so, also being mercenary is illegal in Poland, so Poles in Ukraine are likely "volunteers" but idk if th infographic above make such distinction.

As far as I know, the amount was reached through corpse recollection and identification. There could be more dead Polish mercenaries with their bodies rotting in the front line that have yet to be recovered.

From my country Mexico, we just have 5 dead for now. Hopefully, more fascists from my homeland will meet their end in Ukraine instead of killing activists in the country 🙏

This is really an important point to stress. Every international fascist merc that Russia disposes of is one less to join the blackshirts in our own countries. One less Nazi that we have to fight against. One less Nazi to harm minorities, activists and organizers. If for no other reason that that, we should be thankful to the Russian soldiers for doing what they are doing.

Why does Columbia love Ukraine so much?

[–] big_spoon@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 23 hours ago

colombia doesn't love ukraine, there's a mix of factors like the other comrade says:

far-right indoctrination thinking about russia like "ussr"

past far-right governments giving crappy retirement and crappy salaries to soldiers but keeping the facade with the "our heroes" propaganda

lack of profitable options for a retired soldier: being a far-right paramilitary doing drug-trafficking, killing union leaders, leftist politicians and environmentalists in the country, or fighting as a mercenary abroad

[–] rainpizza@lemmygrad.ml 12 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Well, this is from my own investigation but there are three strong reasons(people could add their own as well):

  • Money. NATO shills, through US funding, advertise big salaries to ex paramilitary soldiers, ex military, and ex police men. Those salaries are simply hire to whatever Colombian drug traffickers or even the gov't offer so these people take the bait. Example down below with 2.8k USD as salary for mercenary work.

  • Fascist sympathizers(example in Spoiler). There is just a lot of fascists that have been trained by the USA from years of struggle with the guerrillas. Also, the US have plenty of bases in Colombia which will leave you wonder: Why does Colombia have so much land used to farm drugs? The answer is very similar to Afghanistan's US occupation years(good book on this is Seth Harp's The Fort Bragg Cartel).

spoiler

  • Strong influence from Ukrainian/American to form sympathy for fascists and dehumanization of Russians. This one is in great part due to US corporate media.
[–] cfgaussian@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

They don't. But the Colombian far right and Colombian cartels see an advantage in sending people over to receive military training in modern weaponry and combat experience.

Most of the mercs don't go there because they love Ukraine. They either do it for money, because they come from poor countries and the Kiev regime's international recruitment ads promise an easy way to make a lot of money. Or they do it because they have some sort of fascist ideological sympathy or a grudge against Russia, either generational or inculcated by the media's propaganda in their own countries.
