I saw this a while back because it kind of makes sense to me like Mad Max Fury Road (one of my favourite films of all time) is a quality slop film.
It's like you've gotten an amazing chef to make me one pot pizza Mac and cheese with the best ingredients and it's so good, and elevated, yet comfortable and familiar.

You could take this to mean movies that have all the hallmarks of being good but aren't, like overly dramatic Oscar bait or movies that are well regarded that you didn't like.

I know it's a bait shitpost. I'm just thinking of what it could possibly mean outside of that. I do like the whole 'you only like it because it's good' argument that has come from this though
no no, qualityslop is actually good, vs something like cult classic schlock that people like for reasons other than its (lack of) quality
