Honestly there should be punishment for when the story changes so wildly. Lost in a system crash to never recorded to begin with, both being complete negligence. One for not having proper backups and two for not having proper documentation to begin with. I hate this world where this will just be further brushed off with a wag of the finger from the judiciary.

For me it the lies confirm that the most likely truth is that they did record, and it looked so bad that they had to run with a lie, instead. Prove me wrong DHS.
Funny that the surveillance state suddenly forgets to surveil when it is the one under the spotlight.
It's like when you call BigCorp and the recording tells you, "This call may be recorded for quality assurance purposes." What this means in standard humanese is, "We will record this call and use it against your whenever we like, but it doesn't exist if it's in your favor."
Although, it does also mean that you can record the call and it can be used in a court of law.
That's the case in most states already. The list of states that aren't single party consent is quite short, though I there are enough edge cases that I'm not confident listing them.
You'd think, but unless you recorded it for quality assurance purposes, that is not the case.
" ... arguing that, had the footage been recorded, it would be irrelevant because prisoner living conditions have improved since the time it was supposed to be recorded.'
So if you ever get charged with drunk driving, make sure you are sober on your court date and let the judge know that now that you are sober, the drunk driving charge doesn't matter. Okay, got it.
Well also remember to be obscenely rich.
Wow, they got like halfway through the narcissist's prayer in under a paragraph.
These fucking geniuses
