I gave in my "accommodations" form with regard to our new hybrid work policy yesterday in an effort to dodge ever having to go into the office. I've been working from home for 4 years and they want me into the office for 2 days out of the week.

It's expensive, The public transport in my area is infamous at best and the drive is even worse. The office is old and cold. Otherwise, very nice to visit on a day off or something if no one is there and you need to grab a free coffee and just happen to be around. There's only one spot with one type of chair. ^them the reasons I would not want to go to the office at all. I don't need to, they keep telling me my work is more than just fine.

I spoke with a lawyer (oh man), they said I shouldn't refuse like I wanted to because of reasons specific to the labour laws. So I filled it out and then didn't send it in for like a week. I was stressed about it the whole week but I FINALLY SENT IT IN!

Is my username super off putting?

I picked it on a whim, but it seems to have negatively impacted me in the end.

It made me laugh, but I could understand it feeling like an issue if you're trying to get something more serious across.

That being said, I don't find it super off putting at all.

Lol, maybe I should make a new account for serious stuff. 😅

And my joints! (insert gimli.jpeg here)

Is it possible to be kind of autistic? I'm getting all these diagnoses and stuff in my thirties, because I seem to have fallen under the radar for a lot of them.

I scored 106 on the RAADS-R score. Where 90 is the point of strong indication for autism and 130 the mean for autistic people.

Like, yes, I have strong special interests, hyperfocus, etc. but I also have ocd and adhd.
People telling me I talk way too fast sometimes, without me noticing, and how it really grinds my gears if people don't take me literally enough or pay attention to what I said/wrote when I carefully chose my words. Especially common with medical professionals, where I tell them I've tried something already and know xyz about it, and they proceed to explain it to me and that I should try it.

There's other stuff as well, but this is of course not a place for diagnosis. :/ I just think that maybe I have it on the lower end of the spectrum, or just some traits. But I've masked generally since early childhood to survive about all kinds of stuff AND put a lot of resources into developing skills/strategies to get better through life with whatever seems to be causing problems.

Yes, you can be "subthreshold" but you could also be unconsciously masking.

When I was wondering about myself and thinking about seeking a diagnosis I thought about what I wanted out of it. It made sense for me to pursue one. Turns out I'm way more autistic than I thought lol

Self diagnosis is valid as fuck, and so is just recognizing traits that cause friction in your life and addressing how to exist with those traits in this hellscape. You don't need a diagnosis self or not to do that.

Really, good to hear affirmation of that :)

It really is crazy. I thought I was cis straight het neurotypical. And then through a thorough assessment with a professional adhd, ocd, bipolar, and ptsd are thrown at me, as well as realising I'm nb and panromantic. 😅

Do you recommend any self-diagnosis tests? The tests I've tried linked via the resources link of this community that test for autism more directly, I usually score really low on, and I have a lot of issues with the way they test. Like "Are you feeling depressed sometimes", "tends to be lazy", "can be tense".

I don't know if I would call this a recommendation but I think this is a pretty commonly used website: https://embrace-autism.com/autism-tests/

I think I was pretty confident that I was autistic when autistic people irl started saying I was one of them 😅

I went out last night for the first time since the storm, just to the gym and back, and I slipped 5 times. One time pretty badly. It's ridiculous to make us go in when the sidewalks are in this state.
