Let me know if I shouldn't be posting links to my own stuff but I thought I'd ask here about what's yalls thoughts are on this? Basically I had the idea to represent the variables I've been seeing over the years as a monolithic equation that was then broken down into understandable English by chatgpt, at the bottom there are ways in which to control the variables to get the desired outcomes to have conflict resolution to these kinds of ADHD and autism issues.

Oh fuck yeah I love using math to communicate complex systems.

I forgot where I saw it initially but one time I saw a video explaining how math in schools is typically taught as grammar basically so thats why people tend to struggle in math classes because the teachers aren't explaining mathematical/logical thinking, they are teaching the relationships of math symbols which is largely unimportant because the symbols can be defined any way you want as long as it is coherent.

So this flipped my understanding of math and got me to realize I do definitely have mathematical thinking and use it quite often abstractly like in this case of the blog post so this was a perfect way to test it, I remember seeing something similar where a monolithic mathematical equation was used to describe some other psychology thing a long time ago and I wanted to try doing that too because it really does equalize the mysticism of everyday actions as long as the points can land.

I'm so bad at abstract math but the moment I got to use math to describe physical things I got really good at it? I tell people I'm great at math, unless it has numbers 😅

It's all about the shapes and vibes lol. First year engineering math was horrible, statistics made me cry a lot but differential equations and things like transport phenomena which use differential equations to describe movement in space is so fun.

I use math now to look for patterns in process data and it's actually a problem because I get so into it and can't tear myself away.

Thats a good way to put it, great at math unless it has numbers lol. Maybe this just means we aren't yet skilled enough to break out of theory land to practice land.

I do use numbers! Just at the end lol. Do the hard stuff with letters and concepts then let the computer beep boop the numbers into it.

In practicable terms, my wife and I have a whiteboard of small tasks. There is no pressure to complete these tasks, but we don't erase them when completed. Instead we cross them out as a kind of 'reward' and erase them when we run out of room for more tasks. Do the dishes. Water the plants, go to the store, do some laundry, feed the dogs, make dog food, etc. It's satisfying to balance the board of crossouts and pending tasks.

This might be the most apropos thing about autism I have ever seen. Bravo.

Yeah, my first thought was how on brand doing this was for audhd, but it’s way more useful than my fucking tracker for flavor proportions for gummies (why do I care? No idea, but I do)
