Black is white. Up is down. Evil is good. Classic Trump deception.

Moar leik 'dissolves you'

Trump already defused the whole idea of allegations against him with his base, he's dodged so many accusations and consequences for so long that his loyal base assumes everything is fake.

Major conservative spaces didn't even cover this, and what they did report on was neutered or downplayed. The vast majority of Trump supporters believe the "epstein files" are as boring as they sound from the title, like a dossier of intelligence names and places and abstract sorts of legal accusations being spun to make Trump "look bad" but they're not making any mental effort to look at it realistically or even glance at the actual files with anything but skepticism and doubt.

They, willfully in many cases, don't let themselves examine the reports and consider that it deals in human lives and a lifestyle of cruelty and abuse that would be at home in the most brutal prehistorical settings.

The 2020's broadly is the decade where a lot of people learned you can succeed in life by sticking your fingers in your ears and going LALALALA as you barge headfirst into entitled demands that the world bend for your wants.

And since we atomized as a society, abandoned community and the social pressures that come with it, these people largely succeed with this tactic because nobody stands up to them long before they gain power and money.

Guy who lies about everything lies again.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 93 points 22 hours ago (3 children)

If we lived in a country with a functioning justice system and even half of what the Epstein files say about him was true, his jail sentence would be measured in centuries.

[–] dancroissant@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago) (1 children)

We don't even have a functioning media establishment. My retired parents get their 'news' from a mix of Facebook, Nextdoor, and what people tell them casually. My sister lives with them and aside from instagram, same thing. There's no daily newspaper, they can't navigate the constantly changing landscape of news apps, which billionaires own which media corp, which media corp is biased in which direction. It feels more like the beginning throes of societal collapse, old men aren't planting trees (for which shade they won't enjoy), they're raping kids, bribing politicians, and building island bunkers.

[–] maccentric@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 hours ago

Agreed. The biggest issue is they want to believe the narrative because it absolves them of any responsibility for their actions/inactions.

Also, *throes

Or a bullet that manages to hit more than a bit of his ear.

[–] troglodytis@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago

Damn that's a big 'if'

[–] red_tomato@lemmy.world 43 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

No one mentioned in the Epstein files will be affected. This is the sad reality.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

Some people in other countries have already been affected. Slovakia I think. Must be nice.

[–] monkeyslikebananas2@lemmy.world 27 points 20 hours ago

If the panama papers did nothing, this never had a chance.

[–] lemmylump@lemmy.world 41 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

There are things that need to be said about this scumbag, and there are things that need to be done about this scumbag.

I have more respect for cockroaches than I do this scumbag.

The fury is real.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 1 points 19 hours ago

Yiff yiff.

Oh, sorry. Misread b

[–] RestrictedAccount@lemmy.world 31 points 21 hours ago

THEN RELEASE THE REST OF THEM!!!!!

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 27 points 22 hours ago

Along with what others are saying… only the least damning half of the files have been released so far. He’s not absolved until the complete unredacted file set has been reviewed by someone no likely to cover for him.

And even there; he’s already a convicted felon; all he could possibly be absolved of at this point is… I’m not sure what.

[–] Geobloke@aussie.zone 24 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

His lies have got to land with 30% of the population, but even that is starting to look a bit rough

[–] peopleproblems@lemmy.world 4 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I mean, the south does have an actual problem with fathers raping their daughters. Not dismissing it doesn't happen in the North, but the south... It's bad. It might actually be a big enough problem that the southerners get furious about it.

[–] Salamanderwizard@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

I remember driving through a town called Hahira in Georgia. I stopped by a Bigfoot gas station to use the restroom. On the bathroom stall door, someone wrote how they rape their daughter, and no one knew how they would never be caught.

I stood there just...so Goddamn mad. Like whether it's true or some one being an edge lord...it just sickens me to my core.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 19 points 21 hours ago

Does Donvict know the meaning of basic words?

[–] kmartburrito@lemmy.world 21 points 22 hours ago

"Epstein files absolve me of any innocence", trump claims.

FTFY

[–] kmartburrito@lemmy.world 21 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

What I think is interesting about this is that I've been sharing the same page with different redactions. In mine, Santos is redacted in the one with Jamie Foxx. Weird!

[–] kmartburrito@lemmy.world 17 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

When you're a star that's what you can do. You can just walk up and measure the child's vagina with your fingers.

This is his child version of grab em by the pussy. Nothing wrong with this, right? I mean he's basically Jesus according to his supporters.

/s in case you're a knobhead that thought I was being serious

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

How are you not being serious? I mean, truly, why would this comment require a sarcasm tag?

[–] kmartburrito@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

For the stupid people, they're out there. Clearly you're not one of them

[–] TwodogsFighting@lemdro.id 1 points 6 hours ago

This is very likely what the bastard was talking about in the first place.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 6 points 19 hours ago

Orange Pinocchio is at it again.

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 8 points 21 hours ago

That's the dementia talking, he meant to say incriminate.

[–] Red0ctober@lemmy.world 7 points 22 hours ago
[–] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 4 points 21 hours ago

Splitting crucial information on 2 pages is something i expect to be a well used trick in intelligence work.

Also the story about the killed newborn, this is the testimony of Epsteins niece is it?
