distraction is also time travel. i fell down the rabit hole of extinct species youtube videos yesterday and suddenly 3pm turned to 1am after like, 3 videos top, and they all were 20min long i think

Healthy people have more effective time travel machine: alcohol. Allows skipping half of the evening in a blinking of the eye.

ADHD people have alcohol too, and it's equally effective...but you only borrow the time travel, because time moves at 1/100th speed the next day.

Alcohol doesn't work on me that way. I mean, hangover yes, time travel no.

That because you're not drinking enough then...if you don't have blackouts, you can handle some more

[–] Madzielle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 days ago

I thought the black out was the time travel part

[–] magikmw@piefed.social 2 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Nah, I either feel too sick or too sleepy to continue.

Same. I got blackout drunk twice in my life, the second time I spent most of the next day in the ER because I couldn't even keep water down. The older I got, the less I could tolerate alcohol, to the point I would get sick and vomit before I could get to the point of blackout. I very rarely drink anymore now and it's only one drink at the time at most.

Could also be allergic, or just drinking stuff too fast or that's too strong. Moderation of intake speed is key. But yeah, for you sounds not worth it.

Then you're just drinking too slow...can't give the body too much time to react to the poor decisions.

[–] irotsoma@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 5 days ago

Yeah the right speed is key. Too slow and you get sleepy. Too fast and you get sick. Have to get drunk and then sick and sleepy so the drunk distracts from the constant body feeling and you dont notice the sick and sleepy anymore...for a little bit...

Don't forget memory loss!

Im sure thats why I love old things so much. I love getting in my time machine. But I enjoy sharing it with others too so I don't think its too big a deal. I spend too much on old gear and spend time fixing it though ha!
