I've been rocking 3, 40inch 1080p 60hz Best Buy insignia TV's, for about three years now. I bought them because I was heavy into Online racing. And they also worked nicely with with the other game I love Arma 3.

I've been thinking of upgrading lately, and I want to keep my cost to around $1K CAD.

My system specs are an i13900K, 7900XTX and 32 Gig's of ram.

So anyways these are my 3 (to 4ish) choices.

  1. Keep the triple monitor setup with 3 1440p ips monitors. These are the cheapest option for me.

  2. (and 3ish)Going high end OLED and getting a SAMSUNG 42-Inch 144hz OLED Smart TV. Ken from the Denki Channel uses this as his work monitor and raves about it.

Or getting a Samsung 49 inch ultrawide OLED monitor . (I'm not sure about this one because it's only 1440p)

  3. Get some 50 inch 144hz 4K QLED type TV. (I like big screens and I cannot lie.) To me 27 is too small but that is apparently the golden zone for 1440p. Any size larger and I want to go 4K.

And the dark horse would be to try some XR glasses. like the the new Viture Beast.

I am leaning towards the 42 inch Samsung OLED.

Anyways if you have other suggestions please let me know. I appreciate your help.

The main question: what about your current setup are you dissatisfied with?

If you can share that, it'll help with which option might be better now.

I just want higher resolution. 1080p is good enough for sim racing, but for anything else it's kinda blurry.

Yeah, if the resolution is the only issue? Keep three screens, you'll enjoy the wrap-around. Especially for racing, a single screen will leave you wanting.

Not to say you definitely won't like a single screen. But you know why you like what you like.

1440p ultrawides are where it's at.

1440p in 32:9 feels like 4k at 16:9 because the horizontal resolution is so high and the screen is relatively short vertically, keeping your effective DPI high. Couple that with 144Hz and you're golden.

I have the XTX and it can't push more than around 90-100fps in most higher end games these days at 4k.

I play mostly older games anyways. Like I said ArmA 3 is my favorite title. that's 13 years old!

Dude, I'll need a picture of a setup, how much desktop real state do you have, but I guess it is a driving sim config.

To your question, I personally would go for an HDR capable monitor, possibly mini-led. OLED is amazing but it will eventually burn.

Right now i have a super heavy, pain in the ass, kitchen table as a desk. its about 6 feet long and about 3 and half wide. But I want to get a lighter electric standing desk. so just picture your average electric standing desk.
