/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

That would make a great t-shirt

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

not a paid advertisement

Such shirts do exist. What's more odd, is that there is an official church of Dudeism located in Oregon.

That's awesome!
Of course it's located in Portlandia too.

Saw a fan theory the other day on the interwebs that Sisko is The Koala.

Is, joined, always was. These matters do not concern us, my child.

For the record, I feel gross having typed that, but who am I to question the will of the Prophets?

From "a knight's tale":

  • I'll win this tournament for you, my lady
  • no, you want to win it for yourself. If you want to impress me, lose it for me

I love that movie but thinking about that I'm now bothered.

If he loses he loses his armor and his horse. Something that's established early on and part of his charade is that he can't afford to replace those things, and so must always win.

The best part is that the eastern European extras (Polish, IIRC) didn't speak a lick of English, so that initial yeah was ad-libbed.

Oh gosh, you had me worried there for a minute I'd be commenting "no!!! is this how I find out?", but he's still alive :)

Why would Jesus want a touchdown? Donate half your income to charity if you want to impress him.

Space Jesus is into baseball, dude! Wrong sport.

Wish he was around to share and criticize in the everlasting headache that is the present.

My mid-week mantra:

As a disappointed idealist myself, I'm glad he doesn't have to see just how bad it's gotten. It's heartbreaking.

Haven't seen this interview/snippet from a documentary before. Really had a great sense of awareness and how to mitigate the impact of the shitshow on his day to day.

Carlin was always the great observer.

Motivation is bullshit, if you ask me this country could use a little less motivation. The people who are motivated are the ones who are causing all the trouble! Stock swindlers, serial killers, child molesters, Christian conservatives? These people are highly motivated, highly motivated.
