They are trying to make it seem like they care about kids at the same time they released the Epstein files... While Trump is lying saying he is not guilty / not in them. They are trying to rile up their base even more and encite violence towards their political enemies. People have been calling for violence on Twitter and ramping it up. I am sick of leftist platforms censoring so much because its very scary.

compelled to use

I gotta say, a lot of the compulsion seems to be around "adult content" which is fairly easy to avoid in most cases.

I would be more interested in how these rules tend to target LGBTQ+ groups for censorship than how they slap a "teenagers" tag on anyone who isn't feeding them biometric data. This feels like another edition of "straight is normal, gay is sex" Christian orthodoxy being codified into the digital landscape.

Complete anecdote, but without exception, every non-corporate Reddit community I am a member of is evaluating something like Zulip or Element right now with the majority of the users ready to jump ship.

[–] PissingIntoTheWind@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

I still say we should get one of those shit flingers from a farm and give Reddit HQ a good smothering.

This compels me to learn deepfakes, which seems not too hard as long as you have sufficient hardware... Or if not then those Death Stranding like methods might still work :AyameHmm:

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

It's quite doable. If you have pretty much any not-prehistoric GPU, you can run quantized Z-Image turbo. If it's a not-ancient Nvidia GPU, you can run a 4-bit SVDquant version extremely quickly.

There may even be versions runnable on Intel IGPs or beefy CPUs these days, though I have not personally investigated this.

Or you can just use the Artbot through the AI Horde for a deepfake, with no corporate servers involved. It's crowdsourced inference, basically the equivalent of the Fediverse.

Its really easy

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 1 points 7 hours ago

Like it matters, since we are going to war with USA, straight up. Their data...will be useless, once in rubbles.

Is there any aspect of the police state that libs won't support?

Y'all have your fascist TikTok and bullshit age gates.

Enjoy your "AI" biometrics! Guaranteed chuck and nancy are making big money.

Liberalism enables fascism.

Is there any aspect of the police state that libs won’t support?

They seem pretty reticent about pursuing white collar crimes, particularly when they intersect with sex trafficking of under-aged girls.

Enjoy your “AI” biometrics!

There's going to be many pictures of Sam Bridges in the Palantir biometrics catalog.

Liberalism enables fascism.

If you'd just stop scratching them...

They have a chance for redemption if they flip and put restrictions on FISA section 702

The guy that said:

Finding things on their way to collapse was much easier than finding the next bargain.

I genuinely don't understand how is he still free and alive. He's as close to a real life devil you'd find. In his own words - he's working on societal collapse to gain more power. Can someone do something already?

[–] discocactus@lemmy.world 26 points 23 hours ago (4 children)

So no more bots on Reddit then right????

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

We're solving the Reddit bot problem the same way we solved the Twitter bot problem.

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 8 points 19 hours ago

I'm sure the market will innovate and give us rentable biometrics.

[–] wittycomputer@feddit.org 4 points 19 hours ago

I bet there will always be bots on reddit. It's so politicized, countries like Russia, US, China will always run farms there.

[–] Catnipchewer@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

I'm milking it for SEO until I get kicked off. It's been a shitshow since the pandemic. Probably had 10+ accounts banned for having an unpopular opinion, I wear that with pride.

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 31 points 1 day ago (22 children)

I’m permaband from Reddit but I miss some local subs. I hope this encourages people to move away to something else.

[–] uienia@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

Unfortunately probably a lot fewer will move than we expect. People seem capable of accepting all sorts of shittification in favour of actively changing their platform. Just look at how many still uses twitter, despite its literal nazification.

[–] techpir8@infosec.pub 1 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

That honestly isn't possible. I have several accounts perma banned and I just make new ones. VMs circumvent hardware ID mapping, VPNs circumvent IP banning. Until they require phone numbers to create accounts circumventing their bans is childs play.

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

If I have to go through any of that it really isn’t worth it.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

Virtual phone numbers can be spun up in seconds

Well anyways, lemmy seems fine

[–] Prior_Industry@lemmy.world 7 points 10 hours ago

Once governments realise it exists, they will look to start blocking it.

[–] Tigeroovy@lemmy.ca 14 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

And I'm compelled to tell them to suck my ass.

[–] ChromaticMan@lemmy.world 4 points 9 hours ago

Write it on a post-it and make a photo of it when they ask for your face verification.

[–] abilol@feddit.cl 5 points 19 hours ago

Is anyone suprised?

[–] pewgar_seemsimandroid@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 1 day ago (2 children)

those systems don't even work and can be so easily tricked.

[–] WhyJiffie@sh.itjust.works 19 points 1 day ago

normalization is the point, and harvesting data, not actual safety in any way

I have not experienced such on Reddit myself, but I am diversifying my use, just in case.

This place looks nice so I've created an account and set up a new bookmark.

[–] Redvenom@retrolemmy.com 3 points 19 hours ago

Fuck those fuckers

[–] Siegfried@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Those are weird places to mine data... are they specifically targeting young people?

[–] luciferofastora@feddit.org 16 points 1 day ago

Normalise it while they're young, so they fight it less when they grow up
