The revolution the feeds the children gets my support!

✏ Rules

  1. DO NOT DOXX YOUR KIDS - Seriously, use an alt for this comm or keep it vague; otherwise we’re centralizing info about everyone’s kids into a single place that can be easily focused on.
  2. No jokes about dead kids - I don't care how much the romanovs deserved it, or how right John Brown was, save it for another comm.
  3. No antinatalism struggle sessions

We went to a nearby shopping centre we never really go to because they have this dinosaur event on. The kids had fun but it was so shit, like just poorly thought out. They only had two girls working there, and they were flat out handing out the craft materials for the day. There were no signs to not touch the dinosaur displays and it's not like they could stop anyone. The thing for this week was to paint some wooden cutout of a T-Rex on a stand. So by the time you were done you had a wet dinosaur painting, a wet paintbrush, and a small set off paint pots to just carry around with you. There was also a scavenger hunt type thing to find other dinosaurs and win a prize. But you had to have your own pen and hand it in to the service desk. Really zero thought put into the whole process aside from getting people in. But next weekend they're doing egg chipping so we might go back to that because at least it's a drier activity.

One of the kids has also been getting up at night around 11. They just come out to the loungeroom and either watch me play Banjo Kazooie if I'm doing that or go straight to sleep again on the couch. I'm not sure if that means getting sick or what. But my girlfriend got quite sick today on the way home from work so I had to deal with the kids. I'll see how she is tomorrow and whether it's a matter off time until I get it.

It's so tough when you need to comfort your toddler in the middle of the night, while simultaneously needing to pee really bad

We are getting MORE snow tonight. Up to 20in. This winter has been unforgiving. I think I'm slowly getting cabin fever being cooped up every weekend. I think the kids are too. I'm dreaming of warmer days.

E: Yikes. The power company is warning that power restoration could take 3-5 days under current modeling and estimates.

Ahhhh! What a nightmare. I hope it isn’t that long and you all stay warm and fed

Thanks! They upgraded the outrage estimate to 2-6 days. We got wood for the wood stove, gas for the generator, we should be OK.

What an odd update for them to give by adding on a day in either direction.

Update: We are more unsure of the timeline than we were before.

Anyways, you sound well prepared but I still hope they manage to get it done in two days.
