The announcement on 2 March 2026 that BrewDog is shutting nine of its London pubs with immediate effect (Soho, Camden Road, Chancery Lane, Clerkenwell, Ealing, Hammersmith, Seething Lane, Tower Bridge, Wandsworth), amid a massive nationwide wind-down, conjures mixed feelings.

I boycotted them once I heard how horrible their business practices were so no. There are tons better brewers in the UK than this so I'll happily continue not giving them any money. The founders seem like the biggest bellends around.

There’s always Mikkeller. The Shoreditch one’s co-owner is by all accounts a lot nicer than Watt. Indeed, he’s on record as promising to never let you down.
