Today i'm hunting wii controllers, making gyoza and springers.

P's left for japan at 2am so I'm off the hook for a few weeks and took work off..

Partay is on! If I've missed anyone let me know.

There will be a talking stick so you can both talk and defend your choice of music.

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 4 points 40 minutes ago

I don't need to defend my choice of music, my opinion is objectively correct

[–] Force_majeure1234@aussie.zone 3 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

What time should we arrive?

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 3 points 53 minutes ago (1 children)

4 or 5pm.

I should have pants on by then.

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 2 points 14 minutes ago (1 children)

Do the guests need pants too?

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 1 points 12 minutes ago

I may convince Boyo to wear his kilt. If I convince him to come at all that is

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 3 points 38 minutes ago (1 children)

Ah, the little things that make life fun... like throwing dry ice into water.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 1 points 10 minutes ago

Potassium into toilets

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 1 points 5 minutes ago

The new cutlery has arrived. It is impressively shiny, but extracting the 'display' set from the front of the box was quite a challenge, I had to use pliers to untwist the wires. Every single piece was also in an individual plastic bag which was a bit of a nuisance.

The old cutlery is in a bag ready to go to work, we are always short on cutlery there.

My green bin fell into the collection truck 😕

That means you get a nice new (and clean!) one. This is a good thing! Depending on the council you might even be able to just log it as missing online.

I'm at the vet with Miss Meow as she has been vomiting. We got to start with a fun game of hide and seek in the garden. Fortunately I managed to avoid claw marks. She is not impressed with the whole process.

Edit: There was a goat in the waiting room!

Miss Meow has had a blood test done and been prescribed some anti-allergenic food. Now I just need to wait and see for a bit more. Hopefully we get this sorted sooner rather than later - she seems quite fine other than the vomiting, but I'm a bit over getting out of bed and stepping in a pike of cat puke.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 2 points 1 hour ago

Get well soon Miss Meow ❤️

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 2 points 56 minutes ago

Hopefully nothing! It was with my Miss, just an inability to eat kangaroo at a civilised speed

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 2 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

I hope Miss Meow is ok.

I was given the administrator password at work so I'm installing every program I can think of before it resets so nothing can hold me back

Coles needs to calm tf down with the scan toilet paper first policy. The attendant at self checkouts today was so aggressive, patrolling the queue like she was searching for contraband and getting up close pointing at peoples trolleys and literary intervening at the checkouts, stopping them mid scan and making them put down whatever was in their hand loudly telling them to scan TP or soft drink slab etc first. It’s offensive.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

I got watched today because I had a lot of luxury goodies like smoked salmon, caviar and cheeses. She walked away when I only bread rolls left to scan. Yet some poor old bastard was waiting to be let out of his corral. I told him to whack it with his walking stick.

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 4 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I hate it, getting treated like a criminal. (But it sounds like there’s gonna be a super nice platter at your place this week!)

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

what if people have a large family?

😡

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 3 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

It’s not a quantity issue, they have a policy where they insist people scan big items first. I can’t understand it, I’m guessing they think you will steal it? Look I may have gone up a size in recent times, but no way is a 24 pack of TP fitting in my pocket.

I must not strangle the idiot manager. I must not strangle the idiot....

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 3 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

If you started, it would be difficult to stop.....

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 2 points 54 minutes ago

True, but this would be a very good place to start.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 3 hours ago

strangling idiots would never end

Another presso for maketing today, 4th time delivering the same content. You’d think I’d be less nervous by now. Reminding myself I know more about the presso topic than anyone in the room so it doesn’t need to be perfect. And breathe.

Edit - it went well! Less people than RSVP'ed but all very engaged and asking questions which means more than people who just show up and listen silently. I have A LOT of leftover sushi catering, gonna be eating sushi for a few days.

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Picture them all in bdsm gear. I've heard that helps.

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 2 points 43 minutes ago

I just go straight for the nakey.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 4 hours ago (3 children)

I panic bought more toilet paper and I don't care.

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 4 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah after covid I always play it safe, when I’m down to half my bulk pack I buy the next one. If the world’s ending I wanna use the toilet in comfort.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 points 3 hours ago

Lol. I do the same. I have 24 double rolls stocked.

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 4 points 4 hours ago

This again? At this rate every household should be issued a bidet…

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

The world has gone trigger happy. I'm prepping.

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 4 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

I don’t want to go through all this shit. Technically I have or am capable of learning basic prepping skills if it comes to it but realistically I’m not physically resilient and wouldn’t survive harsh times.

I’m very tired and if things go sideways I’m kind of hoping something just kills me.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Don't say that. I was only half joking. My daughter is back tomorrow and all hell breaks loose here. I'm sorry if I upset you.

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 3 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (1 children)

It’s all good, I’m sorry I said that. I shouldn’t have.

I’m a little off kilter right now and also remembering covid times. (Everything I was able to stomach was pretty much bought out and it was quite difficult to get anything to eat. This time around my options are even more limited.)

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 points 2 hours ago

Understandable.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

we are safe here, do not worry

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 2 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago) (1 children)

Still the repercussions will affect Australia.

I’m not able to be flexible around food and fluids at all and can’t regulate my own body temperature well. And my immune system sucks.

So if priced out or cut off from energy for heating or cooling, all the soap got bought up like in covid, can’t get the few things I can eat, shortage of antibiotics or iv fluids… I’m gonna have a bad time.

I know his handlers will just fill the eventual vacuum but I hope the orange one’s wipeout is legendary.

I think we are ok here. The current petrol price hike might be painful for some people, but big picture is that it’s tolerable in our economy. We are lucky to be one of the richest countries in the world and self sufficient in food supply. Also we can afford higher prices for essential imports compared to the rest of the world. No one is turning the lights out. Most of the current petrol shortages are in smaller towns where people panic bought by filling up jerry cans and farm bulk containers, thereby stripping the servo tanks unexpectedly. The next truck is still coming on schedule.

For peace of mind, this website shows the breakdown of energy generation. Currently Vic is running at 56% coal and the remainder renewables, so no reliance on imports. Aemo

Thanks. I just don’t trust these leaders not to screw us

Cleaning, cat TMIWhile it was still dark overnight I went into the back room to try and find a suspected pee spot with the UV torch. No dice. How does a black light not find pee?

But it turns out vomit does fluoresce. Normally I cleaned that on the spot but there had been some sneaky (clear) ones I didn’t know about and couldn’t see without the light. So I got in there with a bottle of biological cleaner and a microfibre mitt. Once I’ve found any stray whiskers to save in the front room (I vacuumed the back before she died) I’ll vacuum and repeat the process there.

My poor little girl. I’ve wrapped her urn in the first blanket I ever bought her plus her fanciest one and put her in her favourite bed.

I’m feeling terrible. Massive headache, cramps, miserable inside. I haven’t been out to look for, feed, or pat the black cat since the paper collar attempt because I just haven’t felt up to it.
