uh oh.

So you get used the normal sounds of creaks and groans of the place you're at. With the new place going up next door (and the shitload of excavation then concrete) this place is sounding different. Just heard a big crack and err yea.. walk outside and

path was done (really well) a year before they started.

umm

hrmm

Guess it calls for a rave choon truly a rave choon for everything these days.

Lovely day out there though.

Also found the little messages people left from the partay. That was nice :) Glad to see the gyoza got a mention. That was nagi's recipe from recipetin. She never misses.

Also whoever drank the lion's share of the vodka needs some hydralyte, paracetamol and TLC today :)

OOhh.Sunday Pakige! I wonder what this one is?

Edit: turned out to be my shower stool. I will now be able to wash my feet properly without getting stuck sitting on the floor and struggling to get back up because there is no room to manoeuvre in there.

I just googled my old place, and saw they've flipped the place very quickly. It looks amazing, and it's gone from a two bedroom to three. I'm happy to see my bamboo and cherry tree kept their places.

Funnily enough what inspired me to do a search was an article in the Age about dodgy real estate agents buying houses cheaply from their own vendors to flip for profit. It would not surprise me at all to find there was a touch of that with this place - not completely dodgy like the guys in the article, but probably a quick easy sale at a lower price than it could have gotten because the seller is an absent old lady who is easy to persuade to sell for a low price. But to be honest I don't really care much even if that did happen, I'm just happy we've got her into a good place now and the future path with any care needs is all mapped out, the whole situation with moving a parent and myself and selling two houses at the same time was all a bit much happening at once.

I'm off to the Italian market. Does anyone want anything?

[โ€“] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 4 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Yep, their reaction when you tell them you put cream in carbonara (even if you don't), and when you tell them tomatoes came from south america so they can't complain about anyone's tasty bastardisations of pizza or bolog anymore.

Today we celebtrate no one next door taking an angle grinder to rebar at 6:30am day

[โ€“] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 6 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe the rebar bit back and they're all in hospital.

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 5 points 6 hours ago

Possum sent them a cease & desist

Went well I think :) Hopefully we'll see you at the next one.

Will be there :)

I think they're doing a lottery giveaway at the expo. What's the point, shouldn't they already know who the winner is?

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

๐Ÿ˜‚

You could go around saying you're feeling lucky and you should be a winner. Someone might feel sorry for you and give you something for free. Then you'll be the psychic.

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 2 points 2 hours ago

Y'know, according to Alan Moore's logic I'm already a magician because I work in marketing. My 9-5 is spent mystically influencing people by auguring the favour of the unknowable Meta algorithm

Hairy dog is another option ๐Ÿ˜น

Yesterday we went to Kaprica for lunch. The spaghetti vongole was delicious. 10/10.

Afterwords , we had a look at the Westwood/Kawakubo exhibition at NGV. Fashion designers and their work donโ€™t move me like artists from other disciplines and their creations.

I still donโ€™t know why that is.

[โ€“] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 4 points 7 hours ago

I slept like absolute shit. A gentle day of puttering about might be all I can handle

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 8 points 10 hours ago (3 children)

Going to the local psychic and wellbeing expo today, if it doesn't get cancelled due to unforseen circumstances of course

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 5 points 9 hours ago

There will be a pretty rock to help with that

[โ€“] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 9 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

I patted the cow cat and she looked at me like "what's happening right now?"

Mind you this is after almost 2 years of feeding lol

Also 2 weeks since I quit smoking. Yay!

In case anyone wants notes from my over enthused ranting

book covers

[โ€“] Force_majeure1234@aussie.zone 3 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

Pretty cover art! I have a lot of books to add to my list after last night, I'm excited!

[โ€“] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 3 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Sci-fi & fantasy does really nice cover art I reckon. Much nicer than litry fiction.

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 2 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

But sometimes they change the style part way through a series, which drives me utterly bonkers

[โ€“] TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone 3 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Me too. I believe the industry calls it the Georgette Heyer effect. So you have to go out and buy ALL of the books again so the set matches. Utter bullshit and rampant greedmongering imo. I refuse to participate - the words inside don't change with the cover fortunately.

[โ€“] Force_majeure1234@aussie.zone 2 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

I bet your book's cover art will be incredible, and I will Georgette Heyer the shit out of it

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 2 points 6 hours ago

Like this! It's even the same artist, so there is no bloody excuse!

mismatched book covers
