So there's no heart damage which is great. Ecocardiogram shows no issues either.

The results of the holter thing I wore that records my heartbeat for a day aren't ready yet.

This is the point where I go "yeah cool I'm fine".

And I'm going out tomorrow night to celebrate πŸŽ‰

About to walk into my xx-year school anniversary. I wish I'd become an assassin or something....

Edit. Not bad. Reconnected with one person who I realised I missed a lot. Main person I was hoping to see didn't go, so that was a bummer.

I made it to the door of my 20th and bailed!

Does anyone here feel their age? Physically or mentally.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 5 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Mentally nope, physically... it'd like an entire new spine please. And knees. Maybe just do the whole lot.

Nope. Never have. I think I'm chronologically challenged. Even as a child I felt I was a different age to the elapsed time record. This still applies. Though I do find that as age advances (I'm well over 60), that physical deterioration can be a bit of a reality check. Inside my head I'm still a teenager.

Interesting question! Do I feel 48. I don't know what what 48 is meant to feel like. I feel I'm at my peak now where I can concentrate on me and what I want going forward. Maybe I do come across as cocky but I don't give a fuck. I prefer confident, strong and I'm gonna keep that as long as possible. πŸ’ͺ

spoilerLooking at Melbcat photos. She’s so beautiful. So many tail hugs and real hugs. A lot of cheeky moments. I wish I could hold her again.

I need to find a better spot to hide the cat treats. The void has an impending Catnip Greenie problem, and has smashed a Lego set hunting them down.

Last night I asked YL if she would like to tart me up a bit. She did my make-up so nice and natural I was beaming. She even gave me eyebrows. It's the little things, guys.

My past self apparently programmed a secret message into my spreadsheet to alert me when the leave dates I want are open to apply for. I do not remember doing this at all, but when I opened it today there was a bright red "APPLY FOR LEAVE" message waiting for me. I am incredibly impressed with my ingenuity.

Up at 4am stressed about today.

I find out the results of the ecocardiogram and the holter I've been wearing.

I'm getting tired of taking punches by myself.

I shouldn't have to be more worried about my job than whether I'm likely to get a stroke in the foreseeable future.

/rant

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 5 points 5 days ago

Make sure you mention that when they go over the results as it will be a factor. Also you have been getting medical certs, right? They'll cover your arse work-wise.

Surprisingly no poppies have err.. popped up this year in the ol' opium patch. Was worried they'd take over again. Last year was like 4 consecutive green bins full of those fuckers. I see one, I'm pulling it out.

I'd imagine that'd be at full tilt.

Today we are cleaning downpipes again.

Recently bought a 15m drain hose thing that attaches to the cheapo gerni thing. Did a few yesterday and the noise changed from 'you need a laxative' to 'wtf did you eat last night gurgle'. I think that's progress.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 4 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Took the day off today and just did errands.

My opinion of pensioners is getting lower and lower.

Bless some, but the rest....just give up..please

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Stop touching the meat in Aldi. Move along. Decide what you want to eat at home. Plan. You got plenty of time.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 4 points 4 days ago

Also...when you run into someone you know... park your trolleys along the aisle.... NOT PERPENDICULAR

FUCK!!!

Why they drive so slow? It can be very frustrating going anywhere in our hood to run errands during business hours.

Jesus, what a day. In the way home it turns out the rear tyre has been losing pressure independent of the collision, so the bike might be in better condition than first thought.

Rode to the bike store to drop it off, then went to the nearest pub to meet the family. It was fucking closed for renovation. Ended up going out to where I do trivia for dinner because we couldn't get confirmation anywhere else was open or not packed. It was just a big day.

world is getting too complicated

That store return limit thing was niggling at me, so I ended up contacting the company's customer service and indeed the store limit is a thing - but you can leave the items with the store and the store will then send HQ the details for the refund. (I did also mention that the lady didn't get given that option at all). Hell no.

Project Hail Mary

I went in knowing the audio book very well

and my brain will just not shut up, I sat there analysing dramatic structure and character etc

and after a short while I understood enjoying this is like enjoying The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy

each version for different media is different, they aren't just all the same scenes

but the story is the same πŸ™‚

the visualisations of many of the scenes was stunningly beautiful

story was engrossing

we left the cinema wanting more

5 hobbits

miss seagoon said ryan may get an oscar for it, I dunno, I do think effects etc will win

what I would have liked to see from the audiobook

more focus on the negative events and how they positive think and work together to solve the problems

more focus on how and why they needed each other

that can be in the extended movie version

[–] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I'm going to see it this weekend! Looking forward to it. Listened to the audiobook too - really enjoyed it and I reckon Ryan Gosling is a great choice

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 5 days ago

likely you will come away wanting more , it's that good πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚

YL has started dog sitting. She is in hot demand. She makes me laugh "People pay me to house sit, eat their food, play with their cute puppies while I study. I can't believe this". I love this for her. She's in her element.

Mummy and Daddy love it when she's out of the house. Would it be wrong to post dog pics of other people's pets?

Nope. Unless they're naked.

aaand, Miss Seagoon has set up her imdb page, not many credits and most of her work is not in film 🀞It's a start. She knows how to do this

she said there's a shortage of people in her field, we will see πŸ™‚

Woke up too early club checking in. Had a bad dream that woke me up. Also felt cold so have now put a blanket over the doona. Hopefully can snooze a bit more before morning. Think it’s time to swap to the winter doona next time I change the sheets.

Got the insomnias so I'm playing some random horror game from itch.io. it's actually pretty good, but it is a siren head game (siren head: resurrection by show_more) lol so it's a monster we're familiar with. Already got the monster to glitch out on stuff which is pretty funny, but it did lull me into a false sense of security with it's behaviour and then changing it so I died ha.

Lucky I'm a gamer and save heaps so no real progress lost. I'm fixin' to fuck up old mate.
