I have and love these too, and have used a dedicated pair for my canned food as well. I don’t use canned ingredients typically, however when the occasion strikes the tops are awesome.
Dullsters
Inspired by the Dull Men’s Club.
1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of “discuss” rarely comply with this rule.
2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.
3. Avoid repetitive topics.
4. This isn't an advice forum
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.
There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.
Some other communities to consider before posting:
5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.
6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.
7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with “So” - starting a post with pointless phrases, like “I hope this is allowed” or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.
I use Pringle lids.
That's a great idea. If only I were a pringle person 😕
😮
I got those, they are made of silicone so clean up excellently in the dishwasher.
I have the same ones, they work pretty well.
Those look way easier to clean than the ones I have. Jealous.
Absolute game-changer.
I use the dog food lids for bean cans too
Wait, not got a dog currently, however I also have food that comes in tins sometimes
I had no idea this object existed
No more is my half tin of sweetcorn gonna go a bit gross before I can use the other half
Right?!
We have the same pair in the same colors (bought maybe 12 years ago).
I totally understand putting a "date of opening" on condiments or stuff that sticks around in my fridge for weeks-months but what size is your dog and how much wet dog food do you feed it a day that you need to date that can? How long does a can that size stay around?
My dog is 35lbs, and eats about a can and a half a day, so I don’t feed him a whole can at once because it’s too much for him in one sitting. So, I save the leftover 1/3-1/4 can until the next meal, or the next day, or so; two days tops. If you don’t date the cans, you might overlook one at one point, and then if you go to use it, you have no idea how old it is. Same principle for dating any leftovers in the fridge.
