This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.

Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.

Posting Guidelines

All posts should follow this basic structure:

  1. Which mods/admins were being Power Tripping Bastards?
  2. What sanction did they impose (e.g. community ban, instance ban, removed comment)?
  3. Provide a screenshot of the relevant modlog entry (don’t de-obfuscate mod names).
  4. Provide a screenshot and explanation of the cause of the sanction (e.g. the post/comment that was removed, or got you banned).
  5. Explain why you think its unfair and how you would like the situation to be remedied.

Rules

Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.

Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.

Man, why does Israel seem to want nothing more than to justify what Hitler did? Starting to feel like he should have been given time to finish the job.

more thoughts on thisThe co-opting of popular leftist movements like anti-zionism by fascists is nothing new. Israel plays into this to justify it's settler colonial ambitions, like conflating the White supremacist movement with resistance groups like Hamas, or Palestinians in general.

the biggest Supporters of Israel are White, European and American Christians, not the Jews, but people like this will never actually confront this reality, because it doesn't suit their political agenda

I don't know how anyone with a clear mind could possibly defend this kind of behavior, this is Nazi shit. You cannot claim to be "apolitical", ban both sides and then still have a Hitler defender around on your instance.

I don't care if I am banned or not even though I did not do anything wrong - I mostly lurk on here, but Agrivar@lemmy.world should not be welcome in the fediverse, and the fact that they are only banned from 1 community is completely fucking inexcusable. kill all Nazis

First, nazism is not compatible with legitimate anti-zionism.

Secondly, the mod seems like the usual liberalism enabling fascism: "Nazism and anti-nazism?!?!?! BOTH BAD!"

I was at a shitty crustpunk bar once getting an after-work beer. One of those shitholes where the bartenders clearly hate you.

So the bartender and I were ignoring one another when someone sits next to me and he immediately says, “no. get out.”

And the dude next to me says, “hey i’m not doing anything, i’m a paying customer.”

and the bartender reaches under the counter for a bat or something and says, “out. now.” and the dude leaves, kind of yelling. And he was dressed in a punk uniform, I noticed.

Anyway, I asked what that was about and the bartender was like, “you didn’t see his vest but it was all nazi shit. Iron crosses and stuff. You get to recognize them.”

And i was like, oh, ok, and he continues. “you have to nip it in the bud immediately. These guys come in and it’s always a nice, polite one. And you serve them because you don’t want to cause a scene. And then they become a regular and after awhile they bring a friend. And that dude is cool too.

And then THEY bring friends and the friends bring friends and they stop being cool and then you realize, oh shit, this is a Nazi bar now. And it’s too late because they’re entrenched and if you try to kick them out, they cause a PROBLEM. So you have to shut them down.”

And i was like, “oh damn.”

and he said “yeah, you have to ignore their reasonable arguments because their end goal is to be terrible, awful people.”

And then he went back to ignoring me. But I haven’t forgotten that at all.

It is everyone's responsibility to be extremely intense to nazis whenever they show themselves.

Sure, but in this story, OP is another patron in the bar starting a fight with the nazi.

As OP points out, the nazi was banned from one comm rather than from the instance. If the bartender doesn't throw the nazi all the way out, then it falls to YOU to make a scene until they do.

Bring it up to the admins, then. Reports go to them too. The community mod doesn't have the power to ban them from the instance.

That's been going on for years, people just started paying attention.

Bibi's desperation to get out of his corruption charges might unironically destroy the state of Israel in the long run. Definitely no parallels to that in any of their allies though.
