It's sink or swim, and brother I am drowning.
May I ask what color you used for the cape? Maybe it's just your lighting, but, not only does it look like a perfectly even, flat coat, but it's got a vaguely satin sheen too it too. It looks like a different paint from what you used elsewhere on the model, but lord knows I'm not an expert.
Currently still a work in progress. I plan to highlight the cape while keeping a black or dark grey look.
So far I've applied Vallejo German Grey and Luftwaffe Uniform in a mixture to the raised areas to slightly lighten it. I'll keep doing that while reading what parts are highlighted.
