I was admiring how you could probably hit the mag release in welding gloves and noticed -

Is the launcher designed so the trigger guard is integrated into some sort of trigger blocking safety? Looks like you have you pull down on the guard to ready it. Looks clever.

There is a trigger safety, but it's not the entire trigger guard, just the little lever in front of the trigger

(here the guard is pivoted away for I assume illustration purposes)

Although on closer observation, I guess the thing on the AR-15 above isn't actually an M203, the trigger guard doesn't look quite right

so it might be one of those M203-lookalike flare launchers instead, for civilian legality purposes. Maybe it does actually have the mechanism you proposed (or the trigger just has a really short travel time, but that seems risky on a launcher, whether it's of real grenades or flares)

I probably just overthought it because it seems to pretty much have all the same moving parts visible in the M203 detail photos. Might just be that the clone in the OP pic has a guard that folds in a bit tighter when you don't need to use it, for sleekness / snag reducing purposes. Suppose there could be a linkage to the little safety lever in theory but we'd just be guessing.
