June/early July is a good approximation of what it feels like in Colorado. It's such a weird and horrifying twilight zone. If summer isn't an equally wild inversion of expectations, it's going to be the wildfire season that drives me out of the region.

There's only one area of BLM land I like shooting on in the Front Range, but fire conditions have been so bad that I haven't felt comfortable doing so in almost a year. It will take another Spring 2024-style deluge before I touch them again.
Good thing a big portion of oil and gas extraction is going to be hampered for quite some time I guess. Should have happened years ago, but this will be the largest reduction in carbon liberation in modern history.
