Under the new measures, private motorists in Slovenia will be restricted to a maximum purchase of 50 litres of fuel per day. Businesses and farmers have a more generous allowance of 200 litres.

I'd struggle to get through 50 liters of diesel in a day

This is mostly due to Italians because their fuel is much more expensive and they drive over here just for fuel in masses.

50L is still huge though, is any car's tank even this big?

Looking at my vans 140l tank 👀.

I'm sure people are filling gas cans as well.

A couple hundred people driving across the border to fill up their gas tanks is nothing compaired to the fuel usage of an entire nations industry. Please don't pit the average person against eachother.

They were contributing to fuel shortage along the border and more plus using our fuel subsidies. Have you ever been to a fuel station near Italian border? Anyway, I'm simply stating one of the main reasons 🤷
