I'm on chapter 121 of the manga and getting a little bored. I like Asa, but Denji feels like the same guy in part 1, dense and horny. I guess his schtick is getting old for me and I was hoping for more growth since part 1.

On the other hand, I remember getting bored partway through part 1, and then there was a huge change and excitement. I'm not sure if it will have the same effect though, because now

spoilerI just see the trick of a bunch of the characters dying coming. So even if it does pull the same trick as part 1, I don't think that would hit the same, either.

Idk, what do people think now that Chainsaw Man is done? Others who have seen where everything is going can tell me if it's worth pushing through these last 100 chapters.

Without revealing too much the ending was very rushed, like he was burnt out on writing it and the toll of weekly releases is the current theory.

There’s some really good chapters in the 100 remaining but this might be a good place to stop given the (as we currently know) ending.

Ya, there's just so much other good media right now, so maybe I'll come back to it another day. Just started Sakamoto Days, been really loving Kaguya-Sama: Love is War and Dandadan, and got back into One Piece, which I'm still very behind on (In the middle of Water Seven for that one).

Oh yeah definitely would recommend finishing some of those first, you can check back after that to see if the ending was a fakeout (unlikely) and there’s a part 3.

For One piece I’d either just read the manga or i know there a fan cut called One Pace that removes the filler from the anime which makes it as long.

Loving Sakamoto days and Dandadan as well and need to get caught up onto those too lol

It depends on how much a poorly done ending impacts your enjoyment. Currently, the ending is bad. So bad that I still wonder whether it isn't a fake-out, but he is so obviously burned out that it could just be his way of exiting.

But if endings don't impact you much then yeah read it.

I think so. I found some parts kind of boring but I really liked others, e.g. the Aging Devil. The ending fight is even kind of boring and leaves a ton unresolved, but it still has several fun elements. Also Denji refusing to learn is itself part of the plot at multiple points.

There isn't a massacre of real characters the way there was in part 1. When the mangaka goes for shock, there are a few very targeted killings and sometimes the abuse of civilians here and there, but it increasingly leans more in the direction of absurdity.

I've been told the same about Solo Levelling ("Just one more chapter bro trust me") but I never enjoyed that piece of shit story anyway

I don't think there is a shortage of good things to read or watch, so I think it is better to at least pause and try something new, and start again from where you left or the 2nd season all over again when you're ready
