Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Time for the U.S. to upend tradition and fucking PROSECUTE A SITTING PRESIDENT.

[–] Jack@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

In 2024 the SCOTUS, in a 6-3 majority, said the president has immunity for his official acts as president. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_v._United_States

"It’s what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, […] you’re going to get selfish, ignorant leaders." – George Carlin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBrbXOmnW70

Be sure to vote for the lesser evil, because always voting for evil is a really good idea.

In 1857 the SCOTUS, in a 7-2 majority, reinforced slavery in the Dred Scott decision. Literal pieces of shit can be on the Court doing this. This is one of those eras.

SCOTUS goes off the rails sometimes and need to be reigned in. This is one of those times.

Ok? Like every president has had. Just impeach the guy in a senate trial.

[–] uberdroog@lemmy.world 77 points 1 day ago (2 children)

He thinks its an intimidation tactic. He so transparent.

[–] notwhoyouthink@lemmy.zip 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It didn’t work, and he TACOd 15 mins into arguments made against the EO.

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I haven't seen. What happened? Did he open his mouth in court?

[–] notwhoyouthink@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago

No, he left. Would have been wild if he said something during the proceedings.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Reminding three of them that he put them there to do his bidding.

Technically the budding of the people who tell Trump what to do, but in Trump's mind it is his bidding.

[–] Snowclone@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

Correct, these people were picked by heritage foundation, they were always ready to shred the constitution.

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 day ago

And he left in impotent shame cause he’s too dumb to comprehend legal arguments.

[–] Reality_Suit@lemmy.world 60 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Trump is a pedophile. Anytime he is in public everyone needs to start yelling at him that he is a pedophile. The rich and wealthy will kill us all.

I'm sticking with daughterfucker. Even if he didn't actually go through with it, he 100% has jacked it to thoughts of creampie-ing Ivanka and of her deep throating his mushroom dick.

[–] Linken@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He 100% raped Ivanka.

And regarding “Trump blew Bubba,” if it wasn’t Donald, I think he served his own daughter up as a sacrifice to fellate Bill Clinton (when she was a child mind you.)

[–] dellish@lemmy.world 3 points 21 hours ago

Oh shit I hadn't even looked at it that way.

[–] Angrydeuce@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

After seeing the look on her face in that documentary or show where she's showing off her penthouse in New York, showing off her childhood bed, you can see the change in her face, smile evaporates..."this is my bed....:("

She's 1000% a victim of sexual abuse, most likely by her father and honestly, with what a scumbag the man is? He probably forced her to fuck his friends, too.

[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

It's like showing up to your kid's recital long enough for them to see you waving in the crowd, then leaving to go to the bar before you actually have to hear any of the performance.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 13 points 1 day ago

That should immediately destroy his case. Nobody wants to look at his ugly mug and smell his overflowing Depends while they're trying to do their job.

That he left before the arguments against his insane EO is telling. He doesn't even want to know why he's wrong, which is stupid because most people would want to know the opposing argument in a case to be able to discuss an issue rationally. It's like a child covering their ears and going 'lalala i can't hear you so I'm not wrong'.

[–] btsax@reddthat.com 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If I was president I'd be watching that rocket irl

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 2 points 1 day ago

Right? You get to have a front row seat to that and you choose court?
