Bring them Trump's head on a platter and embargo the USA, they might be willing to negotiate then.

“He started this war. We said that if he needed support against Iran … use our airbases. That’s one of the things that Britain has done. He should now not be abandoning a mess that he’s made, if he thinks that it is a mess.”

What an insane thing to say. Trump’s ability to wage this war completely depends on overseas support. If you stop providing airbases then guess what… the fucking straight reopens cause the war ends.

We live in a clown world.

Country just got told they're going to get bombed into the stone age "where they belong".

A coalition of 40 countries then tries to convince them to let go off of the most powerful leverage they have. Because... reasons.

You guys realize this is existential for them right? Your genocidal best buddy just promised to beat them to death and they're using anything they can to survive. Your approach is to walk up to them and say "hey I know you're busy getting blown off the face of the Earth but can you really stop doing this one thing that may create enough global economic hardship to end your annihilation? It's really incoveniencing the rest of us"

Ashamed to say several countries I'm fond of are on this list. What possible leverage could any of these countries have, even collectively, on a nation that has been assured destruction? Iran is obviously going to tell them all to go talk to their king (Trump/Netanyahu) if they want the strait open.

What a laughable scenario to attempt diplomacy in. Looking forward to another financial meltdown due to global inflation. These are our world leaders. Fuck.

Stop the us and Israel? That's how you get it going again

That would fall under the purview of "every possible measure"

Who am I kidding, they'll go out of their way to avoid this. Literally everything except this.

  • Every possible measure, except the measure that wouldn’t require pressuring Iran

Here's an idea, why not pressure USA and Israel to gtfo of Iran?

[–] Mihies@programming.dev 14 points 18 hours ago

I'm ashamed of servility and stupidity of my country.
