General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Completely unacceptable!!!! What's that? Farage accepted £5m just before running as MP? No problems there, I'm sure it was all above board...

Classic whataboutism.

If you're all about taxing fairly, maybe the leader of the party shouldn't be trying to save a few pennies by avoiding tax.

The establishment is absolutely shitting themselves about the greens getting anywhere near power. They would absolutely rather push it to the point of the guillotine rather than just pay their fair share and properly fund society.

What a hypocritical statement. Pay their fair share and this bumbling fool isn't paying his. Hilarious.

Compared to MPs expenses scandal, or Farage's undeclared £5 million (plus his dodgy house buying tactic) and their denial of wring doing or even why people might have an issue each step of the way him owning up, accepting responsibility and paying what's owed and the fine is very much "paying his fair share".

Could he do better? Yes, of course. Is he doing better that most non-Green national level policians? Seems to be.

On par with every other lying politician is a more apt description. There's been so many lies.

Meanwhile, billionaries are paying less taxes percentually than 99% of the population. Tax the fucking rich.

Maybe Zack could say he thought he was working for the RNLI as a spokesperson on his house boat?
