Well, that was a stressful night. And just off the top, no I did not relapse (well my girlfriend gave me some weed but that was after getting kicked out, who cares about weed?). So sober living has poor person restriction, if we're behind on rent, we're only supposed to leave the house for work and meetings. I followed these rules for a while, but they made my life very empty. I did this until I met my current girlfriend 7 months ago. Ever since then, I've been going to work and spending time with my girlfriend afterwards. And my girlfriend doesn't do any drugs other than weed, also a recovering alcoholic.

Well for the crime of spending time with my girlfriend after work, I got kicked out. Fortunately, my girlfriend has no problem with me moving in for a few weeks until I find my place with my two sober friends. They know how broke I am and want to get a place with the three of us so they can help me out some. I can at least contribute some. And with not having to worry about work the next couple weeks will help me save up that. Also having freedom, not having the costs associated with sober living will be so great.

You aren't allowed to have friends, play sports, go to a poetry reading, see a movie, go to church, visit your family in the hospital, volunteer, gather herbs, help someone move? Sounds like a cult. But wait.. I am re reading... those are rules that only get imposed if you are behind on rent? I guess to you motivate you to get caught up? A normal landlord would never be allowed to impose such intrusive penalties. Sounds like they need boundaries even if they only act like a cult to poor people.

wow and i thought i already hated what they do

I'll be okay, I have really good friends outside the house, so I have a lot to do

Heartbreaking. I've been hearing you talk about all you've been doing for that stupid place. You'd think stable housing and people you care about would be a positive contribution to sober living.

o7 I hope you can keep all the good you learned and let go of all the hard feelings with time

I appreciate it. Yeah, I mean a lot of these places value structure over anything. It is what it is

This is KKKri$$tianity's fault

It sucks you got kicked out and it wasn't by your choice but also yes i think the restrictions living there fucking blew and i hope you'll be much happier not living there anymore

I think there should be degrees of assisted rehab living, like i get that there are some people who given the slightest freedom might keep using and ultimately harm themselves, but I also think theres way more people who just kinda need some help and the insane draconian restrictions on being an actualized human being are way more harmful than helpful

May be a blessing in disguise. I hope you look back on this event like "man that place sucked, I should've left earlier"
