News and Discussions about Reddit
Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:
Rules
Rule 1- No brigading.
**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **
YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.
Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.
**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.
Seems to still work under old.reddit.com: https://old.reddit.com/r/woodworking.json
Old.reddit is not long for this world either. It's just a matter of time.
tbh I’m surprised they haven’t killed it off the way they’ve done with everything else; but when it is done, I’ll stop lurking over there.
Same. Only reason I browse specific subreddits is because of old.reddit
Thought someone said, perhaps with no proof, that a great deal of content comes from old users and they didn't want to cut that off obviously.
Same story here though. Old goes and I go.
Same. If old. goes, reddit is dead to me. I don't know how anyone can stand the absolute clusterfuck that is "new" reddit.
I don't go on reddit often but I do check my old subscribed subreddits occasionally and if they killed old reddit I'd be gone. I don't interact or see ads though so I guess they wouldn't care about losing me
Oh that's interesting, proves that they don't even look at it anymore. Might fix the issue with one of my scripts. Otherwise I can't be bothered to add oauth to it.
There's always still Redreader, I guess.
That's what I use when I have to, but I do kind of hate it. But it's miles better than the official app.
Yeah, it took me awhile to get used to it. But I like it now that I have.
I use rdx and noticed this yesterday. I know the rdx dev is here on lemmy as well but I forgot his username.
Edit: PSA, the search function on the app still works, so you can still navigate to a specific sub, but you’ll have to know the exact name because auto-complete doesn’t work there.
Spez going off the deep end again
hes an alien humanoid he has no feelings for humans.
I was able to use an app called Nara until just recently. It was read-only in free mode, but at least I could browse and read reddit without their own dogshit app. I wonder if this is related.
They still have the RSS feeds I presume? Its possible to make an app based on those.
