now

that's a term that i've seen thrown in sites like 4chan for ages, /pol/yps usually like to think themselves as these epic smart guys, that "memed trump to presidency", and they're probably thinking these days something like this:

"wow even those fgts in the left are against israel now thanks to those hamas terrorists! /pol/ is always right! shadilay! soon they'll be asking for the return of the fuhrer to stop the killing of the brown people in gaza!"

[–] opiumfree@lemmygrad.ml 7 points 16 hours ago

im happy to say that i thought this was recent bc i dont frequent those sites. at the same time this is a bit of a bad sign bc it means that rhetoric is becoming mainstream.

Because reactionaries love to take the wrong lessons from the current situation. They are pushing the "Jews are bad" narrative by ironically reclaiming a term that zionist supremacists use to refer to non Jews.

The premise that its reactionary in and of itself needs to be established. Is it used by reactionaries? Sure. But I don't think its used in a reactionary way.

To partly answer your question of its surge in use;

"Goys" are used by practicing Jews to to perform tasks that they are prohibited from doing during Sabbath. Like cooking etc. Effectively exploiting a loophole in the religion. Goys are effectively viewed as slaves/cattle etc by many sects. Part of the use is used to poke fun of the ridiculousness of this effective loophole. Which I take no issue with. Just as I think it's funny when people joke about the Amish using sophisticated pneumatics etc. Or "soaking" in regards to mormons.

"Reactionaries" might say "good goy" in response to someone supporting Israel in one way or another.

Its not dissimilar than the use of gusano, craker, or the n word by black people.

The phrasing of your low effort post is... poor. I think it would be better to have asked if using the term is reactionary in the first place. Instead of conflating it with reactionaries from the beginning.

I imagine no one has an issue with people using Jesus as an explicative. (Not that that's a good comparison but I think the premise can be understood)

I see no problem with it to be honest. I'm open to hearing how I'm wrong but I think people just play it safe and assume its a slur/reactionary and it shouldn't be used. Cuz it seems like it based off vibes.

Us goys have been well conditioned lol.

Jewish exceptionalism

wow, the religious people think that their god is stupid and can't see through their trickery

You aren't entirely wrong in the case of extremist religious/supremacy types but the issue is phrasing it so it comes off as "all."

I think to really get into it, it would require a deep understanding of acceptable and unacceptable erev rav, which is it's own minefield topic and any discussion would be better approached with personal, if not religious, respect, as with most topics. I say this as someone with the grace of a bull in a fine crystal shop.

The real answer to OPs question (ignoring the reactionaries part) is because its humorous unserious ragebait. And a litmus test for where someones priorities are based off the reaction they get.

[–] REEEEvolution@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Because some reactionaries do not like Israel, some love it. Some hate jews, some don't. Also all of them are idiots.

[–] Cletus@lemmygrad.ml -4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (1 children)

Dawg are we for real. If goy is reactionary how're we using "idiot" 😂
"Im fine with ableism but I draw the line at lazily making fun of a genocidal state"

SMH

Good goy

Edit: Would love to hear the rational behind normalizing ableist language while condemning the use of "goy" Instead of just downvoting 😂

I don't personally have a problem with either term. I have a problem when people are hypocritical.

Thank you for showing and example.

Because “ironic” fascism is still fascism.

Goy isn't even mentioned in the article. If youre ignorant or too lazy to make a coherent argument maybe refrain from saying the first thing that comes to mind.

By the same token black people shouldn't be able to use the n word.

Why can't the out group use the word that the in group uses derogatorily towards the out group?

Any "fascism" being spread by the use of the term goy is eclipsed by fascism of liberal Zionists who would rather tone policy anti Zionists than offend the perpetrators of the current genocide. Antisemitism is a nonexistent bogeyman that poses no unique threat.

just go to 4chan on /gif or /pol and you will understand

[–] Cletus@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 4 hours ago

We were talking past each other I believe you about 4chan ect.

Doesn't help that the question is vague

[–] Cletus@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (1 children)

Op openly being vague and inflammatory to the community 😍 "hey, i just logged on to post the vaguely inflammatory open ended question for the day…" -op

I remember op dmed me months ago on reddit asking why I called op a bot. Months later op still acts in the same way. Posing unprincipled, admittedly vague and inflammatory questions and making overconfident ignorant statements.

Ops DM: "I post so much to learn so I don't see how that is so weird.

If op wants to learn its not by posting vague and inflammatory questions.

I called it then and I'll still stand by calling op a bot. Not because you necessarily are one, but you know what I mean...No need to speculate if you're truly a fed/bot ect. But if you're not you should do better.

I clocked your profile as suspicious the first time I saw your profile pic.

Agent 1: " hey what kinda profile pic should I use" Agent 2: " what about a IG model and Photoshop a soviet hat on" Agent 1: "good enough that ought to work"

Mostly kidding but cmon

Edit: Classic downvote but no reply technique lol.

its not an ”ig model” its a daniela from katseye... i explained this to u the first time u accused me of having a ”thirst trap” as a profile photo. why are you so worked up over my fucking daniela profile pic? why is a woman existing considered a thirst trap to you?

and i was joking when i said ”inflammatory”. i like to post a question like this once in a while because it sparks an active discussion... you piss me off genuinely
