Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules

Rule 1- No brigading.

**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **

YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.

Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.

**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

MODERATORS

So I made a joke a Reddit and got again a ban for excouraging violence. Their automoderation is just a broken piece of shit. I never encourage violence, nor would anyone with half a brain interpret it that way. I'm so fucking tired of walking on egg shells on the internet these days. And it's not just Reddit. Pretty much any social media feels like it's cosplaying as 1984 Big Brother. I 'm tired of all the selfsensoring like pdf or s*x. Can we get back to being treated as adults please.

People are self-censoring so many words, the internet is soon gonna start looking like a Smurfs script.

"A Smurf was charged today with Smurf after Smurfing a Smurf in Smurf. The non-perpetrator with the ability to produce milk was then said to have Smurfed themselves due to the Smurf of the Smurf".

It never occurred to me that pdf would come to mean what it does. This is concerning.

I mixed missed the memo I guess, no idea what it means if it isn't the file type

Thanks from me as well. I was thinking it meant 'public display of fucking.'

Stockholm syndrome?

There are no adults here friend. We are all children and we are ruled by children.

There's your problem, expecting anyone on Reddit to have half a brain.

Recent transplant myself. The AI are posting Honeypot threads with hot button issues. When folks invariably crashout OOPS YOU'RE BANNED NOW!

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I said that Elron Musk really hates poor people, and got a 3 day ban. The note even said it was "automated". I didn't bother appealing because my experience with twitter and Facebook is they never reverse it, even when they claim a person reviewed it (pretty sure that's always a lie). Also, fuck them.

Got another 7 day ban, again for bullshit. Seems like using specific words just triggers the AI. I appealed this time. I guess it's going to turn in a permenant ban again.

I find the automated AI band thing very offensive. Given how often an AI crap is just playing wrong, it's inappropriate to use it for something like that. Being told that your comment is violent and basically you're a bad person and you're not allowed on this site for three days is pretty jarring, and it's annoying and insulting. Reddit used to be about the only social media site that didn't use automated crap like that. They only started when they wanted to try to clean up the site for the stupid IPO. So that's all why I decided to just not bother appealing or going back and simply delete my account.

It's impact is even worse. I've noticed how much I self sensor these days.

Quite true. They don't want people to be able to publicly express how they really feel, because so many people share the same feelings and it would build.
