According to the initiative, students would have several options to confirm their sex: a visual genital exam, a lab test to determine their genetic makeup, or an analysis of testosterone levels in the blood. The genital exam, which a medical professional can conduct without touching the child, would likely be the most accessible option for most kids.

...

Conservative hedge fund manager Brian Heywood and his political action committee Let’s Go Washington are backing the measure.

...

Heywood said he didn’t believe his initiative would add anything new to existing medical requirements for student athletes, a position he also stated to KUOW in September 2025, shortly after launching the measure.

Wtf. These people with these initiatives are so fucking gross. What do you expect from the party of pedophiles i guess.

It's Brian Heywood, a rich fuck who moved to WA state from California because he is a dumbfuck who thought that WA was further to the right than CA. He abuses the ballot initiative process by flooding the zone (the ballot, in this case) with controversial ballot measures with the hope that one will pass.

For pedophiles, by pedophiles.

I honestly don’t know if Fubu deserves this association

[–] artyom@piefed.social 7 points 6 days ago

LOL I wasn't sure if I was the only one who remembered Fubu, or was embarrassed on wearing it and then later learning what it meant.

Heywood said he didn’t believe his initiative would add anything new to existing medical requirements

Why suggest it then?

They love looking a child genital

[–] BassTurd@lemmy.world 19 points 6 days ago

My default response to these types of people, is "why are you so interested the the genitals of minors?" In person it's great. Then double down and keep calling them a pedophile.

No no really it's about protecting girls, really it is! Now go on over to the doctor's office and take off your pants.

There is a movement in WA state to get rid of ballot initiatives altogether. This is only going to speed that up.

Thx MAGA for ruining what little of a democracy we had left. And thx establishment Democrats for turning into Republicans.

FYI socialism and progressive issues are literally dead on arrival in WA except occasionally in Seattle where they only pass if corporate overlords don't donate hard enough.

Thx MAGA for ruining what little of a democracy we had left.

Washington has a stacked liberal majority that should be able to fend dogshit initiatives off easily.

That they're contemplating tossing the baby out with the bathwater is more an indictment of the failure of "business friendly" liberal leadership than the success of MAGA in a bright blue state.

Careful, the user you responded to shits on WA state's legislators for every action they do or do not take. In the past, they also claimed that blue states deserved what was coming to them with ICE because of gun control.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago

Woof. Lots of reasons to shit on Dems, but that ain't it.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 7 points 6 days ago

Now that all the MAGA parents have to deal with this, they might begin to understand.

No they won't.

I mean, the current sports physical has the doctor fondle your balls if you're a dude.

Not saying this is a good thing by any stretch. Obviously it's dumb and transphobic.

But I had to turn my head and cough a good few times in high school, and I'm not sure this is more invasive than that, lol.

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Have you tried a pelvic exam?

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

"But I poop from there"

"Not today"

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I think there is a medical reason for that. If you cough and your balls don't move up, there's something wrong.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

Yes. Hernia.
