I love electric blankets

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 5 points 9 hours ago

I followed up pizza with apricot crumble. Today has been a very good day.

Dins tonight was half a dozen chikkin wings, simmered into soup with a spud, a carrot, a bay leaf and a slosh each of soy sauce, worcestershire sauce, sweet chilli sauce and a squirt of mustard. Plus a punnet of cherry toms and (to my shame)

spoilera small plastic bag of coleslaw mix
BUT IT NEEDED EATING UP for the last 5 mins.

Actually tasted pretty good but I will definitely have to go shopping on the way home tomorrow. Please note: no alliums of any kind were harmed in the construction of dins tonight. And there's enough liquid left for another go around of soup if I put bits in it.

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 3 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Nothing wrong with coleslaw mix! Except needing half an apple to fix it.

I've run out of apples dammit.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 9 hours ago

had a two hour nap, will sleep early tonight too

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 5 points 10 hours ago

I had a busy afternoon getting some cooking done for the week ahead. I made a pot of pumpkin soup, a dozen herb & garlic scrolls, a sandwich loaf, four serves of overnight oats and a rattatouille and beef sausage dish to share with my mother in a couple of days. All followed up with pizza which is in the overn for dinner now.

I thought I was running really late getting everything done, but it's just fooling me by getting dark so early.

Going to the gym now because my shoulder is playing up.

Gym after work sucks.

Now I'm here for a good time not a long one like a lot of others but the tradie next door is on the top step of the ladder, 3 stories up taking a circular saw to concrete without ear / eye protection.

Where's our resident insurance expert.

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 4 points 13 hours ago

Sending you a pm

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 10 points 14 hours ago (3 children)

I am not dead. I don't react strongly enough to foods to be in danger, it's just horrible.

The allergy specialist said , don't eat the stuff that will kill you , ie, difflam and other anaethestic drops. Be careful with stuff that makes you sick.

so no milk, no prawns/shellfish, no difflam.

but it's good to know Imma be ok.

[โ€“] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 5 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 9 hours ago

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 5 points 13 hours ago

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Everytime I give my dog flea/worm etc treatment he yaks. I gave him a chew this morning and he's had a vom. He didn't chew it but it did go down with cheese. This dog eats tissues for a living so I don't know what the problem is.

[โ€“] SituationCake@aussie.zone 3 points 8 hours ago

Maybe try a different brand?

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 10 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

This asshole peed on our bed yesterday, I think as a way to show us how much he hates his new litter pod. So new one out, old one back in.

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 5 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

What a cute arsehole (!!) Enzyme spray ASAP if you don't already have it. Fussy toileter sending me broke with the stuff.

[โ€“] Taleya@aussie.zone 4 points 15 hours ago

get the concentrate from bunnings, that shit lasts foreeeeeeeeeeeever.

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 4 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

And the dental specialist is booked out until the end of November. This makes everything 8zillion times harder. If I've gotten my brain into gear to make a phone call stuff needs to happen ASAP, being in waiting mode for many multiple months messes up all sorts of other stuff

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Yikes, I think the wait was about 3 months with my specialist and I thought that was bad. It's also frustrating when you have waited that long for an initial consultation and then have to wait that long again for whatever procedure they are doing.

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 2 points 14 hours ago

Nothing as drastic as your apt sounds. Possibly Pufferfish juice for TMD. Not keen which is why waiting is worse.

Since we have some nail polish experts in here; I went to a clothing store the other week and the woman that served me there had on this nail polish that looked black from front on but had this shimmery, holographic silver look to it when viewed on an angle. How'd she do it?

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 14 hours ago

My polish today is black with hot pink and orange sparkle topcoat.

[โ€“] StudChud@aussie.zone 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

You can layer an opaque base with a glittery/shimmer top coat, or you can buy polish that just looks like that (Holo Taco for example specialises in holographic polish).

Layer takes longer, as one has to wait for each coat to dry before applying the next, but it's cheaper than buying a holographic polish outright (Holo tacos polish tends to go for approx $15usd per bottle which is insane, and one would have to pay for shipping as well ๐Ÿ˜ฑ)

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 14 hours ago

Revlon does a great holo polishes.

buy when on sale

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 4 points 15 hours ago

I just spent half an hour fixing my budgeting spreadsheet because my calculations and my bank balance are out by 9 cents. The complexity of rounding numbers.

[โ€“] Taleya@aussie.zone 4 points 15 hours ago

I have somehow lost the BRIGHT FUCKING BRONZE lid to the bread tin

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 18 hours ago

I burnt a pork bun in the microwave the other day. I took it out then shut the door. I'll clean it another day I said. Today is that day.

Went out and got ibuprofen (over 30 so I'm still feeling a bit seedy), nail polish (SH 255 Lips Tulips), a pack of smokes (shh), my anti-sads, and two coffees (one for me, one for mein liebe).

For a Monday morning, this has been very productive for me indeed lol

Edit: for nail polish enthusiasts, do not purchase the Sally Hansen 123 Cobalt Blue; it just does not dry or set, remains gel-like and wet, and smudges very easily. A top coat only seals the wet in, it doesn't set it. The 124 Amethyst Allure is perfect, but it's blue counterpart sucks donkey arse

[โ€“] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 4 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

For a Monday morning

I've been in 2 arguments before 10am today. Almost won both. calls for a rave choon:

Don't fight with me, just give me a hug.. is enough

[โ€“] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 3 points 14 hours ago

Hugs in plenty.

[โ€“] StudChud@aussie.zone 2 points 16 hours ago

Monday morning rave choon ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ˜™๐ŸคŒ

[โ€“] Pilk@aussie.zone 4 points 17 hours ago

I have a cleaner coming this arvo for the first time in a while and I'm so excited for shiny taps and neatly folded TP.

My tooths are having a group portrait taken this morning. The next step in rhe process of adopting a couple of artificial siblings.

Edit: They also got a fancy 3D scan taken! Technology is pretty amazing. I'm all booked in for the next implant, then early next year I should actually have some teeth instead of gaps, finally! I had no idea how long this process would end up taking - with Covid delays, bone grafts and moving house thrown in it's been a few years since I started.

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 5 points 16 hours ago

This sounds horrific, but your phrasing is hilarious.

[โ€“] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 4 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Was up early to take daughter to work, started work early and smashed out like 2 days worth of work already.

Sometimes I impress myself.

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 4 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

And here I am impressed with myself for skipping work. Go you, kick this week's ass!!

[โ€“] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 5 points 18 hours ago

I'm usually not that keen to be honest, but we're down a couple of people (illnesses) and I have my annual review coming up ๐Ÿ˜.

Boss appreciates the effort.

Enjoy your week off. Better than what I'm doing.

FYI , IMAX Odyssey tix go on sale today. Also interesting is, the 6 PM opening weekend time slot are already sold out from a one year ago.

In case anyone is looking for a live radio stream of the World Cup, I think I've found it on TalkSport.
