as Antonelli retires
Damn shame he quit f1, the young'un had so much potential.
He's already a millionaire.
He looks so happy these days. He must be delighted: not only he won for Ferrari, he also did it with such a strong performance. If Ferrari can keep up, it can get interesting given the reliability issues Mercedes and their customers have.
Red Bull were at this point in 202, somewhat well in front in the standings, but ended third in the constructors' that year. I feel we're allowed to hope for a good season.
Stoked for Ham and Ferrari. Even though it was certainly a perfectly lucky VSC I think they could've pulled it off without it. Strong pace, good strategy. We're so back baby
They had the pace regardless of VSC.
It's like people forgot that Lewis is the GOAT. I don't even like the guy and he did a phenomenal job yesterday.
I'll say again that they won this in spite of the VSC, not because of it. The 3 stop was the right strat and lewis had the pace.
Unfortunately, the title makes it look like he only won because Antonelli abandoned it, which was not the case.
Thatโs not how headlines work
They way they worded this headline, it absolutely implies Ham only won because Kimi retired
Headline English is like another language
Once again this user, and seemingly only this user, submits posts that specifically spoils race results the moment the race is over. There already is a post-race thread, this is superfluous.
I am once again asking that race results not be posted in post titles, while of course within individual threads race spoilers are to be expected.
I am blocking this user, but if race results cannot be omitted from post titles, I'll have to block the entire community. That is no way to increase community involvement.

We had a vote recently and the conclusion was that results in the title are permitted.

A discussion thread is not a news announcement.

Finally.
Avoid social media if youโre not watching it live. Same as anything else.
Sure, that is probably a good idea. But it's only necessary here because people are being dickheads.
Edit:
To the dickheads who are struggling with the logic here. I'll simplify it for you. Who knows, maybe you're just dumb, and not primarily a dickhead. In which case, there is a non-zero chance this might be appreciated.
There are only two groups of people who can read the title "Hamilton wins GP": People who already know Hamilton won, and, stay with me here, people who don't know Hamilton won.
For the former group, the title is exactly as informative as something like "Barcelona GP results in - Discussion Thread" (or similar). For the latter, the ones who don't know, it is exactly as informative as "Barcelona GP results in - Discussion Thread", with one optional click away, to get the post text or article, where the details are given.
So, the only way you think it is a good idea to put the results in posts titles, and then go "you should avoid social media, because people spoil the results in titles"... well, you're either a bit dim, or a dickhead, or both. Congrats if you are sufficiently self aware to know what applies. Maybe you're not as dumb as others think you are.
Time to happily block another community
"local Internet user mad that the rest of the world doesn't conform to their needs. Blocks entire Internet as a punishment to the other 5 billion people. More news at ten"
Aw, you're so addicted to social media you can't stay off of lemmy for a while? Don't blame others for your mistakes.
