Grifting televangelists with private jets are touching their grifting overlord in the hopes of being able to partake in all his grifting in his role as king of the US.

Giving Trump validation as a religious figure, so he can escape punishment after he's out of office, and continue the grift. Turning him into a literal prophet has always been Plan B, and they are still keeping it in play at all times.

During the Biden term, Traitor General Michael Flynn operated a traveling roadshow of conservative and evangelical speakers, called "The Re-Awakening America Tour," an odd name because that means that they'd be Woke?

Anyway, the thread running through the tour was that Trump had backing by the big Guy in the Sky. All the MAGA All-Stars spoke at one time or another, even Trump, but the real star was Lara Trump. She made frequent appearance on the tour, and her speech claimed that she was in DIRECT contact with God, and God had told her directly that He had chosen Trump as His anointed representative to lead America into their white Christian nationalist future. Trump hadn't liked Lara much before that, but he rewarded her with chairman of the RNC, and now she has her own TV show.

Then his cheating strategy worked, and he became president again, so the religious thing is on the back burner, but it's not going away. They will revive it once he's out. It makes perfect sense: Political donations are highly regulated, and dealing with them is a pain in the ass. But religious contributions are as open as it gets. A church or religious figure can accept as much money as they want, from anyone in the world. In addition, they don't have to pay taxes in it, or even report it. It's the PERFECT operation for a Money Launderer, which is Trump's real profession. It's a better grift than even politics.

Religion will be his next pivot. Mark my words, as it gets closer and closer to the end of his term, the religious rhetoric is going to increase. They'll think that people won't want to put a Man of God in prison, but they don't realize that most people don't truly believe in that bunk, and they don't want to see Trump go to prison...

They want to see him HANG.

Wait are these guys all religious figures?

I swear the dude on the left looks like he was in The Righteous Gemstones (which is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates the stylings of any of the leads...John Goodman, Danny McBride, Adam DeVine, and Edi Patterson, who I never heard of before but absolutely kills her role).

Yep, all of them are religious conmen.

Not a fresh take, but these people fucking disgust me. If I believed in god I would call him the antichrist and these "religious" leaders are praying with him. Not to mention that people in government openly praying fill me with the urge to vomit.

Touching their nappy king, completely normal behavior.

[–] Nunar@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago

Yes. Yes they are.

This meme implies that these turdbuckets reflect on their actions
