General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

He reminds me of a guy who used to roam the streets of Seattle back in the 90s. His local nickname was Conan. But IIRC he was usually barefoot, and at least some of the time he had a sword strapped across his back.

Can someone help me with this. When a man with mental health issues threatened people in a jewish area of London, it was called terrorism. This incident is... an "incident".

Who do you want to declare it's terrorism and how soon after the event?

The article says anti- terrorism police are involved in the investigation but I suspect the police will be saying as little as they can until they have all the facts. It's only fairly recently they have started saying anything because of how quickly rumours about incidents spread on social media.

I'd like the usual knee-jerk declarations of "TERRORISM" by the usual lot immediatley - without any proper scrutiny and with prejudice.

The UK is not safe, roving bands of alt-right patrol the streets and attack people, burning homes.
