"We want this child safety bill to protect our corporation from children please" is such a good look

Legislators: "and we just have to pass it guys, sorry. No choice in the meter. They propose it, we pass it for them. That's how this all works"

They want to get products in the hands of very young children to create customers for life.

This is the happy meal strategy on steroids.

[–] Bristlecone@lemmy.world 6 points 13 hours ago

They'll get it too as long as they push it through before the midterms, maybe even after depending on what those look like

In a just world, even asking for this would be a death sentence for a company.

How about just fix your god damn product so people won't constantly sue you? Business nowadays is just completely asinine

Almost like they don't give a shit if they harm kids

[–] NM_Gringo@lemmy.world 9 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

I'm sure this is partially what these ID laws are about, they know their product is harmful to not just kids but EVERYONE, but they don't want EVERYONE to stop using it, so what's the answer? Ban the kids

[–] rayyy@piefed.social 15 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

It's either kids or profits for Zuck. Which is more important?

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 3 points 20 hours ago

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 22 hours ago

[–] skvlp@lemmy.wtf 21 points 21 hours ago

Almost as if the real goal is not protecting children, but surveillance.

[–] necrobius@lemmy.zip 2 points 13 hours ago

Why won't they please think of the children!?

[–] mannycalavera@feddit.uk 24 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

We are merely the vessel with which to produce harm.

Facefuck, 2026.
