Rules:

  1. No sympathy with the enemy or its collaborators. Russian and North Korean soldiers are fascists committing a genocide. Remember that.

  2. Objective and factual reporting from the battlefield, parliaments, etc. is encouraged, even if it's about bad news for Ukraine.

  3. Insulting Putin and his cronies (Orban, Trump, Musk,...) is absolutely fine but don't use homophobic or similar language against them. Members of the queer community don't deserve to be compared to that scum. Also: Putin disciminates against gay people. If you do as well, you're part of the problem.

  4. Don't insult or use overly harsh language against other commentators.

  5. Don't submit direct links to Twitter/X and Truth Social posts. You may: Post a screenshot + quote, do a full quote and name the author, direct link to a proxy service like xcancel.com, deep link an image embedded in a tweet because Lemmy will cache a copy.

  6. Don't just complain about paywalls. If you encounter one, be a sport and link to an archived version instead. Use Firefox + uBlock Origin with the annoyances filters enabled and https://filterlists.com/lists/bypass-paywalls-clean-filter to avoid encountering many in the first place.

He wants peace-talks based on the conditions he set in 2022. Those conditions are no less insane than anything else he has put forward.
Putin is either delusional or outright insane.

Moscow is ready for negotiations with Ukraine “on the basis of the agreements” discussed in Istanbul in 2022,

Every time they start pushing for 'peace talks' I feel like the conditions being insane is a calculated point. They then get to present themselves as 'peace mongers' while not risking the peace actually becoming a thing, as they don't expect Ukraine to allow these conditions to be

Exactly, this is nothing but propaganda.

They need to curb stomp his ass while he's down. Fuck Putin. Burn the fucking Kremlin down. Destroy the Kerch Bridge. Pound Russia until you get your fucking kids back.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 3 points 6 days ago

Don't burn the Kremlin, don't be like your enemy

Show the Russians that now is the time for change. Let the Russians hang Putin and his family, anyone coming after him has a choice: make peace with Ukraine the right way and go for full democracy, or be next in line to the gallows

No need. GTFO and Pay Up.

There’s yer talks.

[–] Mongostein@lemmy.ca 23 points 6 days ago

Eat shit Putin. No talks are needed. You could have pulled out any time.

Should've quit while you were ahead. But you didn't, you bet the whole house, and now you're going to lose everything. Internationally recognized 1991 borders or bust. Slava Ukraini!

[–] EggInDisguise@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 6 days ago

Return to pre-2014 borders, drag putin to the Hague, return all the trafficked children, and THEN ask for peace talks.

Peace Starts when he's dead.

Fuck Putler.

[–] Chee_Koala@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

Zelensky mentioned today or yesterday that ' if our partners do what they promised to do, we will force putin to agree to peace promptly '. That could mean a million things, but this might be the kerch bridge kaboom they were keeping in their back pocket this whole time, with some extra deliveries from allies?

Agreeing to peace now would be a grevous error. Ukraine has a sustainable advantage for the first time in five years and Russia is weak. Why the fuck would you agree to stop right when your enemy gets tired? They still have your shit, killed your friends, live in your house, abducted your children, destroyed your future and kept trying to kill you. Why the fuck would anyone agree to not beat the every loving shit out of them, disabling their ability to ever do this to anyone else?

Am I crazy or does that not look like Putin

[–] DougPiranha42@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

That’s a false dichotomy, but if I have to pick one, you are crazy.
