Instgram is owned by Meta which is the same as Facebook.
I genuinely believe it's a psyop because suddenly leftcoms are fucking everywhere and their rhetoric boils down to supporting US and Israel but with marxist vocabulary. This is true even in small websites like imageboards. A certain imageboard built around left-wing politics suddenly has an userbase of almost exclusively leftcoms and all they do is make sure no conversation can be had on any topic. It just doesn't feel organic.
Are you talking about leftypol? Because that's been a thing there for like 5-6 years. It started out as thoroughly ML, but I think the NEET turbo-posters there kinda' realized you can't be an ML and just post, but you can be a leftcom and just post so rather than put their ML politics into motion they became leftcoms instead.
I believe something similar happened here back in the Chapo.chat days.
It was enough to stop me from being an admin/mod, but did wonders for the amount of IRL work I've put in for the left since then.

IG has heavy censorship around Israel. My org still getting posts removed for this. I'm not involved in that at all, so unfortunately can't share any specifics beyond that.
And they probably make the posts they didn't remove hard to find for people too.

Wow, they really try the same playbook every time. Everyone who stands up to the empire is themselves imperialist, so why even support or do anything?
Idk why it is but I have had the displeasure of meeting people molded by this community. They are the majority of my reading circle rn.
My condolences I had to close the app after a few posts as it was simply grating on a level most liberals even fail to achieve. I can only imagine the pain of having to deal with it in person where closing the app is simply not an option. It is however an interesting phenomena that they appear much more prevalent on Instagram than say Reddit that has a well earned reputation of being the go to social media of choice for smug pseudo intellectuals of which I feel they would fit in perfectly.
Be thankful. Where I am the majority of people are just different flavors of right-wing cranks, it's like watching a youtube comment section argue in real life.

If the algo detects you have left wing views, it sends you ultraleft conspiracy theory stuff. If the algo detects you're liberal or moderate, it sends you right wing punditry. That's why Bad Empanada is such a fucking maniac, its his job to be unhinged ultra, he plays a particular role in the hegemony, whether he does it intentionally or not.
All insta shows me is hotep content and conspiracy theories.
That makes sense I'm just surprised there's that much ultra/leftcom nonsense to feed the algorithm more than even Reddit who's culture of pseudo intellectualism and smugness is such a perfect fit.
I think instagrams algorithm is especially sensitive to ragebait, so dogmatism and phrase mongering gets you more views. But I have no source for that, just my experience.
Its probs cause thats what your ad profile dictates, the algos wants to feed you slop you'll interact with. Its also the zuck algo so pushing wrecker esque content will be prio'd
