Hey, this is just returning to origins of democracy. Ancient Athenian magistrates served 1 year long terms, and Roman consuls also had 1 year long terms.

Is Farage inevitable at this point? People are angry everywhere in the world, and often it’s the far-right that voices anger too, reflecting the public’s disapproval. The far right’s prescriptions and diagnoses are wrong, but often they’re the only emotional escape valve, thus they grow in popularity.

A lot of people don’t know this, but wealth inequality is the root of their discontent. If a party is not proposing a wealth tax, then they’re not addressing the real problems and are doomed to fail against an angry electorate who is emotionally mirrored by the far-right.
