πŸ”₯ A fire has been noted at the "Gvardeyskoye" airfield, likely as a result of an arrival, reports the monitoring group of "Crimean Wind" with reference to satellite imagery data.

Heat signatures were captured during the day right at the aircraft parking area.

The hitting of three hangars with aviation equipment at the "Gvardeyskoye" airfield was reported on Monday.

And here we go again.

I see only some red masking.

That's how NASA FIRMS draws hot areas on their website, with red squares. The infrared imaging satellites have limited resolution, so they can only get the approximate area of a heat source (the system was originally built to track wildfires).

It's infrared data.

The Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS) distributes Near Real-Time (NRT) active fire data from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard the Aqua and Terra satellites, and the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) aboard S-NPP, NOAA 20 and NOAA 21 (formally known as JPSS-1 and JPSS-2). Globally these data are available within 3 hours of satellite observation, but for the US and Canada active fire detections are available in real-time.
