he got what he needed from it

It’s incredibly sad that they will never have consequences from what they did with this. Any functioning society will lock Musk and everyone up as soon as possible

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 6 points 2 hours ago

The armed guards in the lobby of the first agency they raided should have shut down the DOGE Pirates right there in that lobby with extreme prejudice. That's the very reason they carry guns. Instead, they just let them in.

Then we could have fought it out in court, like we should have.

IT WAS STILL HERE??? I thought that monstrosity was put down back when Trump and Musk had their little lover's quarrel

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 29 points 6 hours ago

They do this to finish wiping evidence before the midterms.

[–] OctopusNemeses@lemmy.world 12 points 5 hours ago

The conspiracy to destroy American institutions happened in broad daylight.

[–] dreadbeef@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

I hope this doesn't mean USDS shuts down. I wanted to apply there assuming it would return back to its software development roots.

You want to work for the pedophile war crime government?

[–] chilicheeselies@lemmy.world 4 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

You need good people to add friction to the plans of bad people.

[–] Nonconfrontational@lemmy.ml 2 points 36 minutes ago

They've been the pedophile war crime government for much longer than Trump lol.

I beg for you to reinterpret my comment my guy. I don't really want to explain it to you, but to put it shortly: you got the wrong message from it

[–] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 0 points 1 hour ago

You want there to be no internal friction? You want no-one who can later recall what’s been broken and where the parts have been scattered?

They probably reached their goal. It was never about efficiency. That was just the PR spin to sell it to the public. It was about getting rid of pesky regulatory bodies which stood in the way of making more money. Especially those who hindered Musk's companies.

The USA is currently experiencing the end phase of capitalism: massive corruption turning into open corruption with an economic oligarch class fusing with the government, massive income gaps and problems for regular citizens, class and culture wars plus reappearance of fascism to keep the population busy with culture wars among themselves instead of uniting against the exploiters, and so on. But it just started in USA. It's already swapping over to other western democratic countries as well.

You becoming a neo-nazi by constantly being served right-wing propaganda on company-controlled social media channels is better for their business than if you were a neutral, critical thinker. It's why Twitter was worth the 40 billion for Musk. Not because he expects it to ever repay itself. But because he can produce more loyalists by influencing what the algorithm shows and hides for you. Nazis are great for them because they're busy fighting against other parts of the population while giving the wealthy class a free pass to do what they want. Which is more money, more influence, more exploitation.

[–] boomzilla@programming.dev 6 points 6 hours ago

In addition he needed Twitter to get Trump elected in the first place as shown by Led By Donkeys.

[–] Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world 11 points 11 hours ago

The destruction must have reached its goal.

[–] AlecSadler@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

Now we need to doxx them all and hunt them down.

[–] JimVanDeventer@lemmy.world 6 points 13 hours ago

I’ll start by googling big balls.

I might take a while.

It ain't over until members of DOGE and Musk have been put to sleep. They will just do this again, when the Regime needs vandals to do the dirty deeds.

[–] SocialMediaRefugee@lemmy.world 31 points 16 hours ago

They made their final downloads of our data.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago

Just another government criminal enterprise.

[–] wasabi_noir@lemmy.zip 58 points 20 hours ago

Bunch of fucking murderous pieces of shit. They all deserve to be publicly beaten within an inch of their lives. Then they deserve to be denied medical assistance. I hope they all drown in baby shit.

[–] stermy4u@lemmy.world 254 points 1 day ago (4 children)

He accomplished his goal of trashing all the agencies that were in the middle of investigating his businesses.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 6 points 12 hours ago

and getting SSNs of most people to be used by russia and scammers.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 155 points 23 hours ago* (last edited 23 hours ago) (2 children)

Also defunding arts, sciences, academia, and anything that might improve people's lives, and making minorities suffer more.

[–] BCsven@lemmy.ca 6 points 12 hours ago

There's is book from 2010 about this topic, the author and title escape me at the moment, but it explains that this is the path the USA is on on purpose to create good little obedient workers who have no critical thinking skills from arts and literature education.

Well at the least the US deficit is now less than it used to be right? ... RIGHT??

[–] Joelk111@lemmy.world 46 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

"Did you reduce the federal deficit?" the attorney asked.

"No, we didn't," Nathan Cavanaugh responded

...

“I think a person can have enough judgment from reading books and being well-informed outside of traditional experience to make judgment calls about obvious things like a grant that literally lists DEI in its description,” Nathan testified.

"What books?" the attorney asked

"There were no books,” Cavanaugh said.

Source - where I actually learned about it

If it weren't so depressing this would be some of the funniest shit I have ever seen. As it is, it's still pretty funny, seeing these clowns have to (fail to) justify their choices to real, serious people.

[–] theedqueen@lemmy.world 98 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Of all the fuckery they did (and it was a fuckton), I’m most distraught about them murdering USAID. So much suffering and death for the sake of being cruel.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 27 points 17 hours ago

This is precisely why Musk needs to prosecuted, and imprisoned for life, as well as his psychopathic minions. They are mass murderers.

[–] KoboldCoterie@pawb.social 34 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (6 children)

It didn't even make sense as a political move. I'd wager most MAGA folks had never heard of USAID or knew what they did, and it was at least helping the US' reputation on the world stage.

Obviously the real value is the good it was doing all over the world, but for the Trump admin that couldn't care less about that, it still made no sense to axe it.

[–] grahamja@reddthat.com 2 points 5 hours ago

All the money spent on the US Military offering aid in places like Haiti, Nepal, and Philippines all came from the USAID bucket. Thw bottled water, fuel, shelters, food... all from that USAID line of accounting. I am very interested to know where the money is coming from to pay for aid in Venezuala, because it's probably the same bucket for dumping bombs into Iran.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 8 hours ago

notice how fast the MSMs quashed the news of musk screwing over all the agencies that were benefitting magat states, when it started hurting them, or about . they stopped after reporting doge non-stop for 1-2 months, and almost nothing until "musk decided to leave doge" a few months later.

[–] boomzilla@programming.dev -1 points 5 hours ago

MAGA folks are conspiracy nuts and AFAIK one of them is that USAID was a tool of the CIA to have influence over foreign governments (or smth like that). Which was peddled by anti-imperialists originally, AFAIK. It wouldn't surprise me if this somehow transpired into MAGA circles and was interpreted as an instrument purely used by democrat elites to rob hard working Americans of their tax dollars, which is of course happening more than ever under their current kleptocratic "government".

At this point, if you drive a Tesla, I have a real hard time not thinking you like Nazis who hate freedom and minorities. 🤷‍♂️
