Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.

What a disgrace, considering that just a year and a half ago, the CDC was one of the most important medical organizations in the world.

The blatant incompetence and boundless greed of this regime are not only responsible for diarrhea and the decline of the U.S. as a center of scientific excellence: the decisions made by these criminals are directly causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people.

It is irreparable damage—the kind no one could have anticipated amid this absurdity. The lesson is clear: the U.S. cannot be trusted, as the unscrupulousness of its leaders knows no bounds.

They will still claim 'but communism' while ignoring that this is capitalism at its rawest, most unadulterated form.

If this system is what I think it is, it's the wastewater monitoring, which was a tool that helped with monitoring Covid. Remember, if we don't test, the rates drop.

[–] kuhli@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

You do know you can read the article to find that out instead of assuming, right?

This is a completely different monitoring system called Foodnet

[–] forkDestroyer@infosec.pub 12 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I didn't read that article but I read your comment and I'm ready to believe whatever you say.

[–] Kewlio250@lemmy.zip 6 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I'll take your word on it, thanks!

Imagine shitting your pants to own the libs.

[–] crandlecan@mander.xyz 1 points 15 hours ago

A REAL man isn't afraid to shit his pants. Some of the bestest Presidents often do it. It's a sign of STRENGTH, but what'd a pussy like you know about that, eh? 😤

If nothing else, their incompetence will give us all the proof we need about why these agencies need to be run by experts and why they need to exist and be funded. I never thought I'd see the day we had to learn the hard way why greed and selfishness can't be left to run amok. Sounds exactly the way right teaches their kids, the hard way.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 5 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

these agencies need to be run by experts

What experts? The NIH was defunded. 10,000 post docs have left the country. People are retiring or exiting science. No other countries are taking up the slack.

[–] crandlecan@mander.xyz 2 points 15 hours ago
[–] minorkeys@sh.itjust.works 2 points 17 hours ago

Not sure what your point is, that we have no experts anymore? The institutions should still be run by experts.

[–] FlyingCircus@lemmy.world 5 points 20 hours ago

We already knew all of that. The problem is that under capitalism, the rich make the rules. Until we supplant the capitalist class with a working class government, we will continue to see policies that put money ahead of people.

[–] thepig@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sadly it won't, have you learned nothing, people learn NOTHING and would fall for another Trump again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again x 10^100

[–] minorkeys@sh.itjust.works 2 points 17 hours ago

Only the leadership needs to learn. But yeah we're probably fucked.

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago

How many people are going to die from this version of the Green Apple Splatter? WTF, everyone suffering from the runs, should mail a bag full to the coke snorting fuck up's office.

America is what happens to every corporation when the middle management have finally all been promoted over the threshold of their actual abilities.

[–] hohoho@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 5 points 21 hours ago

The Peter principle states that a person who is competent at their job will earn a promotion to a position that requires different skills. If the promoted person lacks the skills required for the new role, they will be incompetent at the new level, and will not be promoted again.

Does not check out. People keep failing upwards, often to the very top. 🥹

Is this not the onion material? Or just normal in the states now?

[–] forkDestroyer@infosec.pub 4 points 18 hours ago

I've pooped 6 times before noon but I'm a telecommuter, so I simply ran meetings from the bathroom.

Barely an inconvenience. If anything, I'm glad for the parasite because it separates the weak from the strong.

[–] andxz@lemmy.world 6 points 22 hours ago

Anyone even remotely sane in the US wishes it was the Onion. Alas, this is their new reality now.

The onion, newspaper of prophecy.

[–] nul42@lemmy.ca 81 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Just as expected, if you elect parasites to office you get parasite friendly policies.

I feel like everything in the news lately would have been really funny if it weren’t reality. Conservatives killed and ate satire.

[–] FordBeeblebrox@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

Zaphod wasn’t supposed to have actual power, this is what happens when you give the con men the keys to the kingdom

[–] xenomor@lemmy.world 63 points 1 day ago (9 children)

Didn’t RFK have a brain parasite at one point? His parasite advocacy makes a lot more sense if you consider that he really might just be a brain worm piloting a vaguely human shaped mecha.
