Like that greedy fuck cares about pollution

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Sounds great, first you'll need to measure the costs of pollution. Oh wait, you've already fired all of the people that calculate those.

When the tariffs started, much of the USA was on fire. California, Portland, and the Northeast were all facing major wildfires. In Canada, there was an open public discussion about whether we should send firefighting assistance to an administration that had become openly hostile toward us. In the end, we did what good neighbours do. We helped. I do not think, a year later, the favour will be returned

I'd like to thank the Canadian firefighters for helping us out, and I am deeply sorry we aren't returning the favor. We're all in this world together and we (the US) should act like it.

[–] OttoVonNoob@lemmy.ca 14 points 2 days ago

Thann you, I understand its not all American's so don't worry. Things will get better, its just going to take some paitence and good people stepping up.

Really. He wants to set the precedent that other nations can recover damages caused by your country's environmental impact?

[–] Fluke@feddit.uk 2 points 1 day ago

Is the US tired of winning yet?

[–] nulluser@lemmy.world 15 points 3 days ago

Yes, please!

Did he forget they were struck down and that they had to do a flat 10% tariff for everyone under a different rule?

Or is he just forcing "tariffs" anyway that are actually just bribes?

Both sound plausible.

[–] aarch0x40@piefed.social 24 points 3 days ago

Tariff is the only threat he knows besides bombs!!

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago

Did he forget

I mean, yeah, probably. Dudes got dementia

He can conduct "investigations" like the ones Dubya, Obama, Trump and Biden conducted that determined the extremely highly sought BC softwood was being dumped on the US.

[–] GreenBeard@lemmy.ca 26 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Fuck him. 300% export tax on oil. Lets see how fast his tariffs come off.

[–] TheBloodFarts@lemmy.ca 12 points 3 days ago (2 children)

The traitor premier of Alberta Marlaina Smith unfortunately enjoys the taste of Trump's diaper too much to agree to such an export tax

[–] GreenBeard@lemmy.ca 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

And as an Albertan, fuck her too.

[–] TheBloodFarts@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago

Fuck her a whole bunch

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I am sure the orange rapist provides no restitution to people for having to breath his poop spores that are flying all around them when in his proximity.

[–] watson387@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 days ago

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 days ago

Wait. Wildfires are acts of God. Is Trump saying he’s against God blanketing the US?

[–] 843563115848@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago

[–] who@feddit.org 8 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Yet another ruse for Trump and his cronies to leverage in amassing power by bleeding working-class Americans dry.
