Epic can literally give away a game and people will claim it. Then go buy the same game on steam for not inconsequential amounts of money and play it there instead.

You called me out lol! I collect Epic free games but only play games on Steam.
I disliked Epic and what they were trying to do so much I never got it even to claim/download the free things.
Same, complete waste of time
Epic spent all their "investment in technology" money on Fortnite development, poaching developers with exclusivity deals, and poaching users with free games. If they spent even a quarter of that same amount of money just making a decent competitor storefront MAYBE they'd at least be close to being an equal to Steam. But even that is wishful thinking because Steam users are pretty stubborn and Valve hasn't done anything stupid enough to genuinely piss us off yet.
