Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

it's so hard to ask for these things... im thinking about how one would even bring it up, or make it easier for someone else to bring it up.

asking "do you like pistachios" is soooo much easier to answer than "what food do you like".

I mean... I understand why they thought that. it happened on this post which, out if context, kiiiinda does read like some fetish twitter post kinda maybe?

the context here was that the original actual Twitter post was about ai and... insulting the reader and such. it was about relying on LMs and such to do everything that is fun to do, essentially removing the point of life. so i tried turning it into the opposite. i went "no, its okay to rely on me, thats what im here for <3" and went for the role of a mama... aaaand I used "mommy" once... which triggers people.... so I replaced it later with another "mama"....

it made sense. I could see it. but when seen within context, I think it makes sense... u can read that posts content if u care for more info...

anyway, thank u very much fir enjoying the drawing, i had lots of fun making it and.. actually imagining how i would go about feeding someone and.. how i would react to that... i physically acted it out to get somewhat natural looking stances... i like making these posts too much >v< hehe

yea maybe i... may have a special someone someday... whom i can maybe feed at some point or be fed by... who knows ~

I would like to write a longer sincere answer, but don't have time.. have to eep, tomorrow early day. just know that you are wanted and loved and that I'm so very happy that you liked it (specifically picked non-extra-sugar apple sauce so its not too much sweet- that can be uncomfy. this way ita just fun apply taste in a fun mushy type texture ~ ~ ~ so very cooling and soothing in my mind ~ ~ ~)

all that is to say: I might come back and Wirte a more sincere comment once I got time.

and yeaaaa bits cheesy indeed... otherwise though i wouldnt get the feels across as well I believe.

with this one... panel 5 is quiiiiite a lot. like a looooot a lot. maybe too much.
its so close, it's so much sparkle it may be too much.

a simpler text-only panel might have done it better. imagining it may be more exciting than seeing it.... of course it is!

but at that point, just... writing the whole thing instead would be better! and not everyone likes... reading. its supposed to be visual its supposed to be kinda grabbing...

puréed apple is different from apple sauce because it's closer to a whole food, not with sugar or apple juice added.

oooooh yes actually, ur right. I didn't know they added extra juice but yeaaaah that makes sense.. literal mashed apple would be too dense and.... brown.

but why would anyone decide to get the sugar-added apple sauce? like- u can just... add ur own if ya reeeeally want it sugary I feel. So we always just get the no-extra-sugar stuff...

I guess it's what the French call "compote"? Similar to baby food basically, though I think they do tend to add "some" sugar in there.
