Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

Whenever a fellow lady compliments your clothing item, it is required to respond that it has pockets if it indeed has pockets then demonstrate.

(and when I say pockets, I mean your whole hand fits)

Okay so, perhaps a controversial opinion, but I don't actually like pockets on a lot of my clothes. Lounge clothes? Absolutely. Scrubs? Can't live without them. Clothes I wanna actually wear out? I'd rather use my purse. I don't personally like the look that pockets provide on some clothes, and I certainly don't like the way pockets look when there's something in them. I have dresses with pockets, and I could never use the pockets because I feel that they'd look awful.

But, I think there should be more options out there for other women do do want pockets. It's especially heinous on jeans, because those should have good pockets.

I suspect a lot of women's fashion is designed around what men want to see unfortunately. I got myself a handbag shortly after transitioning due to losing the stuff I used to keep in my pockets all the time...

Men largely do not give a shit lol.

There are women’s clothes out there that have all the things women say they want. They don’t buy it because they end up looking like a butch lesbian.

This isn't an appropriate remark to make anywhere but especially a women only community. Due to that I've had to ban you, and wish you all the best 💖

What a bullshit thing to say. Have you read the rules here?

Women are something to drape things onto! Do stuff? Exist??? The only thing they should do is stand very still and look pretty!!

What do you mean I've confused a woman with a mannequin???

(How I think they must think)

I swear these companies want me to die of hypothermia at the office with the see through fabrics and cutouts

Finally we are seeing some women’s yoga pants with pockets. But how many years did it take for that to happen?

If you are short enough you can get pants in the juniors department with like 8000 pockets. Not the height of fashion, but comfy with those elastic waistbands and decently affordable.

This is why I almost exclusively wear doctor pants instead of jeans. They're comfy, stain resistant, have multiple deep pockets, and old people ask me for medical advice at the pharmacy.

You mean cargo style scrub pants?

[–] Wren@lemmy.today 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I mean doctor pants. I call them doctor pants.

Why dont women with desires for larger pockets (and of course pockets in everything) do a kickstarter and start making some useful pants?

Surely it can sell.

[–] velma@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

Why don’t you try it first and tell us how successful of an idea that is?

Yeah, let's get right on creating a company to compete with the fashion industry.

The problem isn't pockets, it's the systemic biases in the fashion industry that lead to beauty taking precedent over utility.

Have you read the rules here?
