This guy is too fucking stupid to plan and organize a coup. His little henchmen might be better but you're going up against a huge armed populace. With military resources spread out, broke and mostly overseas. He isn't doing shit.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 hours ago

Hrs been blatantly preparing a coup the entire time and its just being allowed to happen. Reminds me of when someone is being stalked and blatantly threatened and the cops say that they can't do anything until after the stalker actually physically hurts someone. Trump and his associates have been outright announcing they're going to hostile take over their country and end democracy but apparently nothing can be done until they do it, at which point it may be too late

[–] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 3 points 1 hour ago

Betteridge's law of headlines says that answer will be no.

However the answer is yes. Lumpty Trumpty is planning a coup.

[–] cmbabul@slrpnk.net 1 points 50 minutes ago

I again reiterate that it’s maddening reading articles about shit that has been clear and telegraphed for years.

I’m not a journalist or even particularly that smart, and I’ve been aware that this was always what he was gonna end up doing

[–] not_IO@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 3 hours ago

yea he openly is

[–] tigermountain@lemmy.world 6 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 28 minutes ago) (1 children)

And are the democrats doing anything at all to counter or push back on this narrative?

[–] uberfreeza@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

No, they're too busy trying to suppress progressives.

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 6 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Puddingbrain is shitting himself more than usual at the thought of us installing democracy back into our country. This fucker would be going to jail and all his asslickers would be flapping their gums to get mercy--- throwing that nasty pedo in federal prison for the rest of his short life. Ohhhh I'd just love to see all those parasites lose their money and go to fucking jail.

[–] zqps@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 hours ago

Sad that the best-case scenario is a Democrat-led, imperialist and likely still zionist, oligarchy that pays lip service to a handful of social issues.

[–] nanometer1625@thelemmy.club 10 points 4 hours ago

Is he planning another coup?

FTFY

[–] Folstar@lemmus.org 21 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Can you even imagine how stern the letter from congress will be regarding this very obvious thing the liar-rapist is obviously planning to do? So stern. Shivers down the spine stern. Prepare yourself. So stern.

[–] Kurtismayfield@lemmy.zip 8 points 5 hours ago

The letter will contain words! And perhaps a threatening if you do..... And then the opposition party will go back home to attack the Democratic socialists. Their real job.

At this point, to anyone surprised at this idea, I can only roll my eyes.

He was quoted, recorded on video, saying "You'll never have to vote again."

He told you exactly this. Morons didn't really think about what that meant. Many of us saw it for exactly what it was.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 hours ago

And those of us who pointed it out were treated like conspiracy theorists even when the fascists released a public document announcing it

[–] sportsjorts@lemmy.zip 10 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

This dude tried to overthrow the country once and everyone was like buhbhhhhhbbbhhh whatever. Fuck Trump fuck this illegitimate admin. Take back America!

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 hours ago

Know who else tried a violent coup but somehow was later allowed in a position of power? Hitler

[–] Bluedragon012@lemmy.world 12 points 6 hours ago

Send troops then we'll shoot. Make a new law, we'll ignore it. I don't want to live in a fascist nation. I will do as much as I can to prevent it.

[–] SaintNectar@lemmy.zip 3 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

The pedophile rapist is going to win by force. Sorry to all the normal brained americans (not the MAGA sluts), but there are no path forward sadly

[–] DrDickHandler@lemmy.world 5 points 4 hours ago

In the short term no. Facism is there to stay for the next decade at a minimum. Unlike the retards who thinks this is ending when he dies, I believe that it will be the beginning of something much worst.

[–] GutterRat42@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

Just like Orban... 🤔

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 49 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

Did you forget he got into office by doing a coup?

Yes. He’s preparing a coup.

[–] prototact@lemmy.zip 6 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

It's the only natural conclusion to a modern dictatorship, rigged elections.

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 hours ago

Can't rig them when they're the authority of the states. That's why the orange tantrum.

[–] BeardededSquidward@lemmy.blahaj.zone 25 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

He already wants his Proud Piddle Boys to also be at polling stations. People who are like "don't give him a reason to try to cancel the election" need to realize he doesn't NEED one to try and do it, that he'll try regardless.

You mean his proud pedo boys

[–] Soggy@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

If he cancels the elections for a naked coup it will be a lot easier to convince other nations to help us than if he cancels elections in response to violence.

[–] Jaysyn@lemmy.world 40 points 12 hours ago (5 children)

He's absolutely going to try to ruin the midterm elections, but almost everyone I know would crawl over broken glass to vote him out.

[–] AWistfulNihilist@lemmy.world 10 points 8 hours ago

That's exactly that happened the election after covid, it's gonna be harder but I bet the election still breaks records because of how many people are gonna turn out to vote against Trump.

At some point, local communities need to start addressing the overreach of this federal government. These are not national elections, they are state elections and the feds have no authority or role in them. trump’s thugs should be ridiculed, doxed, physically confronted, and driven out by local and state authorities. That means cops. That means governors deploying the national guard.

Of course none of that will ever happen because cops generally don’t actually give a fuck about their community or laws, and governors and the national guard are mostly showboating pussies.

Isn't he a bit old for a coup? Seems like the moment he tries he'll get pneumonia or something and die.

[–] DanceMomsSavedMe@lemmy.zip 16 points 11 hours ago

That would be so awesome
