I don't think I have a problem with a bunch of soldiers going to a voluntary worship service, regardless of the religion it is for.

I certainly wouldn't have a problem if this was a bunch of Muslim soldiers worshipping Allah, so I don't know why I should have a problem with this?

Sure, but it seems like people here might have a selective problem with one of them too, just in the opposite direction. Not sure if you've read some of the other comments.

I'm just saying we should probably not have a problem with either. Neither is doing anything wrong or bad.

We should absolutely call out when the media freaks out about a Muslim worship service. But that's not a good reason to freak out about a Christian worship service.

Commenters yes but the original poster also didn't say that they just pointed out the double standard. I don't see anyone freaking out when media does it their "normal" way around this is just pointing out the double standard.

Sure, and while I realize that I posted this as a top comment, it was after reading a dozen other comments on this post, so it was more in response to the general sentiment I was seeing.

I didn't feel the need to respond individually to 20 people when it seemed like the overwhelming majority opinion, so I just made a top level comment.

I can see how that could be confusing though.

I didn't interpret this as saying a group of Christian soldiers praying together is bad necessarily, just that a lot of Americans would see a picture of Muslim soldiers praying and say they were religious extremists but be fine with this, pointing out the double standard

I agree with regards to the image in the post. But the title is "Religious Extremism," which carries a judgemental vibe of the people represented.

But really, I actually was posting more in response to all the comments on here than the post itself.

I'm getting a real "eff those guys," vibe that, yeah, isn't in the original post, but is very real in the comments section.

So, as opposed to responding to literally every other comment in the thread, I just made a top level comment.
